Yep. If I can do it myself, I'll do it. Not paying someone $4 dollars and THEN tipping them for doing something I can do myself. That, and restraunts take a hit on every order.

Ride shares make sense... food delivery doesn't. Just do it yourself.

Never had food delivered besides pizza here at home. Use Uber eats all the time on the road. Hotel where the cheapest meal is $85, with no car..... it’s the only way.

I’ve never driven door dash, but I drive Whole Foods/Amazon Flex a few hours a week. Nice to do on the side and pays better than Uber/Lyft did.

It’s not easy to get all deliveries done on time but I just listen to music or podcasts and hustle.

Limited hours but I’ve been averaging $43/hour (gross) over the past couple months. However, I only drive about 5 hours a week. I never sign up for time slots anymore, just turn on the AVAILABLE NOW button on the app when I run errands till my app dings.

Not sure if this is available most places but near me in CA it’s a nice side gig.

    There’s so many Jons here

If you meant me, I can confirm.

I’ve been doing grubhub for over two years now and doordash for a few months. I primarily do grubhub but I work both of them to maximize active working time.

I would certainly recommend it, especially if it’s just part time for some extra money. It can be a lot of driving, not for everyone for that reason.

What better way to interact with people than to give them the food they ordered. BTW: What is your percentage and what is the pay scale?

Actually, I haven't yet begun. From what I understand, though, the "real" money is in the tips......for what that's worth. LOL

Not in it for the money, though.

I shop/deliver for Instacart. I used to do UberEats and DoorDash but I've found that I make more money with Instacart and put less miles on my car because my time is split more between shopping and driving. I average about $45 per hour (gross). I also occasionally do Whole Foods/Amazon Flex like @Further.

We always leave the driver a healthy tip. And we leave the restaurant a healthy tip when ordering to go. In general, we are healthy tippers. My mother worked hard when I was a small child just to put food on the table and pay the rent and she got miserable tips. I'll never forget that.

If your considering doing this for entertainment and conversation then I think being a Lyft or Uber driver would be more satisifying. Not everyone wants to talk, but for the ones that do, I have some of the best conversations with my drivers.

K, I'm going with Instacart. My card arrives in a few days! This should be fun. Plus, I'll give it a shot in Florida when we're there. Probably great (intoxicated) tippers!

Good luck. Most people I deliver whole foods to seem genuinely appreciative.

That's highly unlikely. Why would someone risk their job to steal $4 worth of food? Restraunts forget things all the time.

And then people stop using the platform because of it and the drivers get fucked over in the long run.

Restraunts would not be doing it if they took a hit on every order. Quit spreading misinformation that fucks over drivers.
