I agree with this. Most of us just don’t trust the organization to do the right moves

If we traded Dame for a boatload of assets the trade would make some sense. Even if it still sucks.

Retooling with Dame......this deal makes zero sense.

I agree with Cronin's strategy. I'm disappointed he didn't receive better assets in return. Obviously he's been beating the bushes to execute his strategy and get the best possible return. It appears he ran out of time and took what he could get. Maybe he needed to make a move of this nature to achieve his primary target before the deadline. At least I hope that's the case. Or for all we know he may have needed one or more of these particular players to get it done. On paper, yesterday's move was shockingly bad. It was one step back. I'm waiting for Cronin to take his two steps forward. All I have left is hope.

This league is made up of teams that are constantly re-engineering, every year there are only 4-6 legit contender and even those team from 1 year to the next may change.
85% of the teams are always shuffling the deck to either address roster, tax penalties, acquire pic assets. And even with that probably 75% rinse and repeat in someway every year.

    Yeah. A criminal GENIUS!

Only a true mastermind could make a move so baffling to further their pursuit of league domination. Mere mortals like you and other GMs won't see it coming!

    Until it's too late.

    Bwah-ha-ha!!

    Ha-ha!

    Ha.

Thats an option Im just not convinced they want to do that now, the recent verbal was we want to build around Dame and address roster positions.
From a business stand point when Joe meets with Bert and Jody they talk not just about roster challenges, contracts, trades but the importance of creating/maintaining a positive vibe synergy and playoffs contention each year as its what puts fans in stands and sponsor spending bucks. Jody may have given Joe the green do what it takes to address the major roster deals and if you can purge/shed some salary now maybe we will be able to hit jack pot with a legit all star type player. Once we have the guys we build around Dame with have more flexibility in extending our guys because you can go over the cap some.

It all comes down to one thing for me, can we still obtain a solid PF with what we have left without giving up Dame, Ant, Little, and Nurk.
Or was Norm and RoCo a better option to get that done and still pay Simons and Nurk?

We will still need a deep bench (i.e a defensive stopper at guard) but I can live with that starting lineup.....if we can get someone like John Collins at PF.

I'm for losing now too, but at least set us up to have a way out lol. Hopefully the next trade or two spells that out.

7 of 15 WC teams still below 500. Going to be a whole lot of talking going on.

So you think Jody gave Joe, Chauncey and Dame the directive or did she swing the trade herself and tell the guys I want to give my old neighbor a favor?
I had heard numerous times that Balmer and Paul were not buddies.

I don't know, but Paul was the influence for Balmer buying the team so I don't know where you heard that.

Ive read articles over the years and several implied they were not buddies at all.
Do you still think Jody gave the directive?
