Ok, Ill be the first to say it “very young MJ” not MJ after his 7th year in the league.
He’s got the same confidence and can move to the hoop with authority.

Roy had blazer fandom big time and when he left he didn’t consider that or show his appreciation.
Some sports stars were on a pedestal since junior high and never learned to appreciate those in support and some see right away and are humbled and appreciative, Roy really wasn’t.

Yeah, Darius was vilified for doing the same thing, but Roy gets a pass...??

Also, I think there's a distinct age range for those who say Roy is their all time favorite.

    He's a fantastic rebounder, already.
Yeah that would be a very good rebounding 2/3. Sharpe actually out-leapt Hart and knocked him to the ground on one rebound. Then he took the ball to the hoop and scored.

And then there's Clyde Drexler and Bill Walton / Maurice Lucas too.

Grant Hill could play point guard. Are you seeing that in Sharpe? Maybe someday.

He took a big contract, retired due to injuries, then went and unretired and played with the twolves and has never really had much to do with or say about portland.
I respect his talent and often think of what could have been like most, but other than that, he never embraced the city that embraced him.

People say a lot of things trying to get attention.

While they are both bigger guys with a handle and play making skills, physically Cade is a size smaller (SG sized) then Grant (SF). Grant was also a better run jump athlete to my eyes.

I agree. He’s got the body type and athleticism of MJ or Kobe when they were young. He isn’t likely to be nearly as good as either, but he definitely has the physical gifts.

I loved Roy. Few fan bases take things as personally as Portland. Maybe no other place actually. If you don’t make it clear you fucking love this place you’re dead to them. Dude is born and raised Seattle. He took a contract that the idiot Wolves were giving him. He still wanted to play. Paul Allen gave him a boatload of money. None of this is his fault. He was a great dude too.

Yeah after reading his "crime", which it turns out I already knew about, I don't care that much. Was there a cap hit that crippled us like with D. Miles? This was when I was nursing my fan wounds just like during the Jail Blazers years and not paying attention to the team. I saw his MJ hand switch against the Raptors 7 rows back on the hoop he did it on. I will never forget that and will always cherish that memory.

If I recall correctly it wasn’t so much that it hurt Portlands cap situation but his money owed to him was not covered by insurance because he was not medically retired anymore. I need to look it up.
