MSNWarriors' Gary Payton II trade fiasco has NBA Twitter shredding Blazers apart1 day ago This whole thing stinks
I wanted Portland to keep Hart. But I knew it was going to be tight if he got more money than his current salary. There seemed to be rumblings that he wanted quite a bit more and that he was also unlikely to re-sign with Portland. Maybe he didn't like the role that Chauncey asked him to play...I don't know and yeah, I still believe Nurk and Ant got paid too much
We wanted the Blazers to trade CJ and move Trent to starting 2; they said "No", and then traded Trent for Powell. We wanted the Blazers to trade CJ and move Powell to starting 2; they said "No", and then traded Powell for Winslow and Keon. They finally traded CJ for Hart. We wanted the Blazers to have Ant come off the bench and start Hart at the 2; they said "No". When we saw it wasn't working with Ant at the 2, we wanted the Blazers to trade Ant and move Hart to starting 2; they said "No" and traded Hart for Reddish. It's been quite monotonous these past few years.
Every single GM in the league would take Simons over Hart as their starting guard. don't be delusional.
I just put on my RealGM hat and I wouldn't. Of course, I'm always ready to get in a pointless argument
i completely agree that ant and dame don’t work together. But I’m also sure that the right deal probably wasn’t there at the deadline to move him. You don’t just give him up for nothing. I’m 99% sure that if a star 3 and D wing were available for Ant and change Cronin would hit accept immediately. But how many of those guys were there this deadline? And more importantly, how many of those teams viewed ant as the ideal star piece they wanted in return? All that said, given Cronin’s comments at the press conference, I am fairly confident that ant gets moved this summer. More teams are in “tinker the roster” mode then, and the market will be better.
If Cronin's plan is to use pieces for a possible big help Dame contend trade how could it not include Simons as the main piece?
Shams is the writer that said Portland pressured Payton into Toradol injections and concealed that fact. I wonder if he's even bothered to call Payton's agent and ask about him saying that Payton did not receive injections
You're right. Every single GM that that wanted to get abused defensively and have a guy that's hot every 5 games and is an overpaid chucker most of the time and end up in the lottery, instead of a having guy that plays great D and works his ass off every game and isn't ball-dominant, would certainly want Simons.
You stumbled into the wrong thread. This is the GP2-Warriors trade thread. There are plenty of other threads on here discussing Ant’s fit here. Go there.

I’m not being forum police. But this is how forums/message boards work. There are threads titled with what is being discussed in the thread. You click on the thread that is relevant to that subject you want to post about. Or you are free to create your own new thread, that’s fine. But don’t go hijacking threads and making a mess of the whole place.
There's a reason why Josh has been on 4 teams. And let's be real here, Josh is what Josh is. He's a 27 year old *role* player. He'll get you 10-11 points, and never be a 20 point scorer. Again, there isn't a GM in the league that would take Josh over Anfernee. If the team offered Simons for Josh, right now, the Knicks would not only say yes, they'd help pack his bags.
