Financial aid to illegal immigrants

When you say financial aid the first thing that comes to mind is money for college. Are you talking about financial aid for illegal immigrants that are going to college?
 
What kind of thread is this? There's no specific information given to "discuss" anything. No link, no background, no context . . .

Sorry, yes I am. Some states have passed laws against colleges making financial aid money available to kids of parents WHO HAVE NEVER PAID A DIME OF TAXES IN THEIR LIVES. The Federal Government has decided it should look into that and make a Federal law making it ok.

I have no link because I heard it on the radio this morning. I did look it up on the internet this morning and saw some things on it though.
 
Ah, the old illegal immigrants don't pay taxes myth, haven't heard that one in a while.

I am prepared. I already have my lawn chair out in front of my Dr's office to reserve a spot so I can see her when I am sick instead of having to wait 2 weeks because she is busy seeing people who contribute no tax money to the Government who is going to pay her salary. I have also been looking into other Dr's in the area who have completed their real medical degree instead of the coming ones who will be able to get their diploma at devry

Oh so because an illegal immigrant pays $20 per month in taxes, but costs our REAL taxpayers tens of billions of dollars for medical care, unemployment, prisons, etc, you should be allowed to receive scholarships. I wish I was able to go to college for free. Maybe if I go commit a crime, I can get all these nifty benefits.

How about the identity theft run rampant in this country by illegal aliens utilizing the SSNs of US citizens to gain employment, and then having that US citizen receive notification from the IRS that they're being audited for failing to claim wages earned in another state? This happens every fucking day, and you wait until you're on the receiving end and you might feel different.
 
How about I explain how they pay into FICA, unemployment, and Social Security but will never see what money come back because if ignorant dumbasses who claim they don't pay taxes. How about I explain how millions of illegal aliens file tax returns every year even though they supposedly don't pay taxes. How about I explain why people should stop listening to ignorant propaganda perpetrated by those who are anti-immigration and learn some fucking facts. Would you like me to explain all that?

It doesn't remove the fact that they are still illegally here in the country and should be deported.

Hmm, interesting. I wasn't aware that all of these illegal immigrants paid all of these taxes on the up and up. I guess I missed the part where the US government issued all of these people who are in this country illegally social security numbers. Would you mind explaining those "fucking facts" to me?

You make it seem like cutting government financial aid will have education cease to exist. The government should not selectively subsidize education. The money could be used for lowering the tuition for ALL instead of a select few and improving education overall.

What's wrong with taking out private loans for education? It would put more of a focus on the amount universities charge and make those who have to borrow funds for their education have more appreciation for it. Why is it incumbent on the government (meaning the citizenry) giving something that can be paid for though private loans. Shelter is important, so why won't the government pay for half of my house?
 
Instead of deporting illegal immigrants, I think we should deport the Federal Reserve, most of Congress, corporate and banking criminals, the Bush family, the Rockefellers, the department of homeland security, NAFTA, Kevin Garnett, and Kid Rock.
 
That sucks . . .illegal immigrants are here illegally and get all the breaks. What a great life they have . . . wish I was one.

Wow. Just wow. Sure am glad you took the time to "explain" that to us. I wanted your "explanation" in order to see the crash-and-burn that you just posted. Thank you.

Your "explanation" must "explain" why the state I live in, California, has to tack on an extra 10% to every budget in order to try to cover the unexpected costs associated with the illegal immigrants in the state.

Just wanted to point out this is a improper comparison. Comparing a single per person per month to a masive group over an extended period of time is always going to look unbalanced. :tsktsk:

I don't understand the correlation between people thinking illegal immigrants don't pay taxes having any impact on their ability to see the benefits of social security--it's because they're in the country illegally. How do they pay into social security? Oh that's right, with a fake SSN. My guess would be the majority of illegal immigrants with a fake SSN # did not acquire it to pay into social security, but instead to get a job. This just keeps the identity theft problems in this country rolling.

Just so I understand correctly, all illegal immigrants pay taxes, and they can do no wrong? Okay, got it.

Obviously this was used as an example. The point is studies have shown that the deficit created by illegal immigrants is enormous because they utilize government services that they contribute little too financially such as services like medical care, prisons etc., but historically pay little in taxes because they have low income jobs due to little education and/or fluency in English. This is just a generalization, but the facts show this is fairly common.
