One I just heard on 95.5 is that PA's health is not good and the franchise is in a WIN NOW! mode.
 
Ideas that come to my mind are:

The leaked info about Cho wanting to suspend Roy...maybe Cho was the one who leaked it?

Disagreement with what to do with Oden - offer him a long term deal, just the qualifying offer, or nothing at all.

Disagreement with what to do with Roy - use a possible amnesty clause?

Most likely the Vulacans realized that Cho has a mind of his own and are looking for a puppet instead.
 
Well the Seahawks sure aren't in a win now mode, so the Blazers are the best bet for him. I've been paying close attention to people reacting out of desperation and this kind of feels like one of those situations. The old saying goes, "If you panic, you will find a way to get yourself killed". As a fan I hope that isn't what's going on here.
 
Cho was involved in a steroids scandal and the feds were closing in. It was time to cut ties.

I don't want to say too much, but let's just say that I have a source who contends that this lead to much friction ... not that I actually have a source, but let's just say it anyway.
 
It's got to be the Canzano article. My guess is Cho leaked it. Heck, he may have wanted to get fired. What better way than to expose Allen/Miller as having their fingers in day-to-day operations and player discipline issues.

Only other possibility that makes sense is that they are bringing in someone like Adleman and simply needed to make room.
 
Cho was tabbed as the next leader of Al Qaeda. They requested the chance to meet with Cho and, since it was a superior position in a more stable organization, the Blazers agreed. Cho ultimately took their offer.

Cho wanted to fire Nate. Cho wants to amnesty Roy. PA doesn't want to upset his Seattle people by ridding himself of two Seattle icons. Cho gets fired.

PA proposed something basketball related and insane (such as the Darius Miles contract).
Unfortunately, Cho didn't realize PA was serious and laughed in his face.

The rest is history.

I expect the Patty Mills 4 year 20 million dollar contract to come down the pike as soon as the lockout ends.
