What if oden makes it back this year? How would we incorporate him in the offense? Which player(s) will he take time away from?

I know we can't truly count on it, but if he does come back, how can we?

He would take time from one of the elder statesmen. It would be a platoon trio of grandpa centers.

If Greg plays this year, he should instantly take minutes away from Camby. Thomas, Johnson, Williams and LA. The offense should continue to push the ball with PG's darting into the lane and good ball movement. Oden will get plenty of baskets.

Are you kidding? If he can play, he takes as many minutes as we can get out of him from any big not wearing #12 - and we'd be all the better for it. I like Camby and Thomas, but let's not overestimate them (or underestimate GO).

and the oldest face will have the youngest feet and hands... knees... that's still up to KT

I can't wait till he comes back. I'm getting the heebie-jeebies up and down my spine.

Side note: There was a shot of oden from above last night, and you could see through his braids that he is developing a bald spot already.

If he can return, I think minutes will be easy. The difficult thing will be to not give him too many minutes.

Yeah I saw that, at first I thought maybe it was just odd glare from some lights but it definetely looked like he could have a huge bald spot developing. Doesn't have any power alleys yet. Gosh I dunno, maybe he really is 52 years old.

I'm sorry folks but Greg Oden will end up being one of the most HATED Blazers of all time! My gut tells me he tanks this year, bolts Portland and ends up in Miami healthy next year. Wins a ring on a minimal contract, and than becomes the Greg we all knew he could be with a max contract! The same time the Heat is showing Bosh the door...

The only thing Portland has done is make sure that Greg is a millionaire to go be some other teams superstar center. We've seen the last of "Getting Over" Oden in a the Blazer uniform...

If I'm wrong I'll write a retraction but I feel confident Getting Over is a memory here!

I would rather use the cap space on a better, productive player than sink it into more "wait and see" of Greg after this season.

It will require careful budgeting of minutes. Can you develop the spreadsheets and share them with us?

Or ya could invest that money in a new set of trainers and dr's so our whole team doesn't end up under the knife before 25! All good options... HAHAHA!

he aint givin no shits about basketball right now! he gettin tipsy bitches!

Yup I agree and that's why I know he's a feeder! Lazy guy looking to make millions doing next to nothing on and off the court! He hasn't played in 3 years, could have had his degree finished at OSU but ... you know that isn't happening! Strippers and clubs is his major!

You don't need to exaggerate to make your point - or maybe you do.

Oden last played on December 5, 2009, just over two years ago.

BNM

Here's how you play Oden:

1. Nate writes him on his lineup card.

2. Oden walks on the court.

I know there's a lot of doubt about GO, but it has to do with him holding up, not whether or not he can ball. Even at 80%, he was one of the best defensive pivots in the league. A rebounding and shotblocking machine.

Soooorryyy he played almost half a season ..... than GOT OVER again for another year and a half! HAHAHAHA! Good Grief even Bowie played more than Greg! The biggest bust ever as a #1 for sure!!!!

Obviously, you never saw LaRue Martin play.

Are you serious? REALLY? This can't be a serious question, it just can't be! Nobody can be this out of touch.

Says the posters whose screen name is I LOVE ODEN . . .

How about.....SAYS THE POSTER WITH A BRAIN!!!! The question is redonkulous. How do you play Oden? Who do you take minutes from? CMON MAN!!! I guess we should not trade for Dwight Howard, I mean how would we even play him? We couldn't take minutes from the great Marcus Camby or Kurt Thomas.

When Oden is cleared to play he will obviously need a lot of time to (A) get back into basketball shape (B) get his timing down.

He's been out since December of 2009, folks.
