No, they would never do that, his good friend Dennis Rodman lives here!

As planned by the US. Same as Iraq. Same as Afghanistan. Iran soon also. Provoke to get a defiant reaction, then use it as an excuse to attack.

We need to free North Korea ASAP.

Pretty scary shit.

A lot of "public opinion" seems to mock North Korea because they have a funny looking asian ruler. Others say they don't have the capability...but seriously. This is pretty scary especially for us west coasters! :MARIS61:

I think basically what it comes down to is the world doesn't respect the asian cock. :sigh:

We're not mocking the cock, bro.

NK is fucked up.

I think it's as much just him trying to get his people to think he means business, because even he can't even fathom that it would end really badly for them if he did anything that monumentally stupid

I think it's high time we go there and shut them down. They are bluffing; but if they had the means; they would. That's the problem. They don't give a shit about their people. They want to strike fear in our hearts.

Just a quick mobilization and that government goes down in flames. I think even their people would welcome the change.

If you move on them they might set off a nuke because they have nothing else to lose. They might not be able to hit us, but they could blow themselves or South Korea up. The only way this ends is if the people overthrow the government.

This.

I honestly think that if Dear Leader decides to launch a nuke, whoever is actually controlling affairs there will take him down, blame the "imperialists" and take power to stabilize the country. The staff around Kim Jong know how to retain power and keep control, and it's not going out in a blaze of glory, which is the only way a war would end for them.

It's not called North Korea, they're the Best Korea!

Thing is, if we learned anything from the Iraq war, it's that war isn't the solution we should aim for. There's much easier ways.

Like Iraq or Somalia?

No matter how bad their government is, they will defend it against outsiders. Change has to come internally.

It'll last a couple of weeks, just like we were told about Iraq. North Koreans yearn for our torture. China won't counter-invade and try to take South Korea; just ask Douglas MacArthur.

I think it's pretty muich all bluff. The kid isn't getting enough respect after taking over from dad and he has to prove himself a leader. As to invading NK, there's a joke.

They are oppressed. More so than Iraq. Somalia had a fight for power. They had many tribes fighting against each other for control of the country. It's a bit different. China won't get involved because the u.s. is one of their leading purchasers for export. Any embargo against china will be devastating to their economy.

If the leader openly authorizes a nuclear attack, that is an immediate threat to our safety. This isn't like Iraq where we assume they had weapons of mass destruction. They have nuclear weapons. At least a bomb that was detonated.

It all feels like a lot of NK's typical saber rattling when a new "Dear leader" comes into power, but if he does go Nuclear, it will be the shortest war in history.

I photoshopped this together for a friend living in Japan:

If they do anything, I think they'll start with a cyberattack and then a tactical nuclear strike. There was some rumors they basically crippled South Korea about a week or two ago with one.

well, you're talking about a country who basically wants to go to war just to "get it out of their system".

DPRK’s “State of War” Declaration Is a Faulty Translation: Not an Official Policy Statement from Kim Jung Un

“from that time” becomes “from this time on” and “from this moment“… little change, big difference

As much as our leaders would like them to have taken the bait, North Korea has not declared war on the South or the U.S. in response to our unprecedented provocations. So when all else fails, leave it to yellow journalism like this piece of work from the New York Times or this obviously Photoshopped image that came out this past week.

The much touted “state of war” declaration is not a declaration of war from Kim Jung Un but rather a statement of support for whatever decision he has too make from the “the government, political parties and organizations of the DPRK.” It claims only they will declare themselves in a state of war WHEN their leader makes that decision showing they are completely behind him. It is a statement of support from the people and perhaps a warning to the South that the North will not fold under their attack. But not a declaration of war from Kim Jung Un.

There is a campaign of propaganda underway this week in Korea and I will show you that this latest crisis is nothing more than a continuation of that warmongering effort.

It’s being reported across the globe that “North Korea” made these statements in a recent official release via state media Korean Central News Agency :

“From this time on, the North-South relations will be entering the state of war and all issues raised between the North and the South will be handled accordingly,”Ria Novoski

“Now that the revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK have entered into an actual military action, the inter-Korean relations have naturally entered the state of war,” Huffington Post

“From this time on, the North-South relations will be entering the state of war and all issues raised between the North and the South will be handled accordingly,”Reuters via Prison Planet

As you can see, this rhetoric spans quite a wide political divide from the fake alternative left to the equally fake alternative right and very thing in between. CNN, Fox, NBC News all of them are reporting this crucial development as fact.

...it is a fascinating read! For someone in the know about the "Road to Serfdom", I am amazed that you are marching to these war drums :dunno:

its an authorization to strike, not a declaration of war. semantics. you've got to know how the rest of the world works.

something is going to eventually happen here. just a matter of time.
