The premise is simple. Offer up a trade that may be beneficial for both teams and ask would you? Would they? People can weigh in on if it's a good deal for both parties....

Could be a fun game given the blazers current situation.

I'll start. I think Portland has too many potential bigs. We need an all star level wing to help with the scoring. As much as I'd hate to do it because he is my second favorite blazer now, he probably has good trade value in the league right now. Toronto just lost Lou Williams and have been rumored to be shopping derozan because they don't want to pay him next year.

Would you deal meyers Leonard and cj McCollum for an extended demar derozan? Would they?

I would not and Raptors would run to sign

I'm not so sure Toronto would be interested. On one hand, Leonard and CJ are hardly risk free. OTOH, if they do play well they will soon be seeking big pay increases.

No I wouldn't....they'd shit their pants

Stop overvaluing our players. CJ and Leonard are fine young prospects, but Derozan is an all star caliber player that would give Dame some help. The Raptors have a hole at PF right now, Leonard and JV would be a good fit. CJ could take the Lou Will role and they could start Ross at SG.

If you don't like Derozan, what kind of package do you think CJ and Leonard could net us?

Cousins YO!!!

Cj and Kaman maybe.

I'm all aboard the Legend boat (was going to say train but then rethought it). Those dirty northerners can't have him.

even if boogie has no intention of playing in Portland, we should be able to pick up some attractive/valuable assets by facilitating the moves utilizing our cap space

I think we keep leonard he has big potential but i think we put cj and kamen in a deal for a wing player to help lillard

Unfortunately I don't see CJ and Kaman getting you much from anyone that fits our team right now. Maybe Rudy Gay, but I don't want him as the guy to pair with Lillard without Lamarcus.

Other than that, any other player that realistically might be moved for that package is old, or young and better than CJ. So you'd rather just keep CJ.

But I'd rather have an all-star level player to pair with Lillard now

I like Derozan. I would have to think about it...Probably replace Myers with someone else.

Well someone bought haterade in fucking bulk didn't they.

No way Derosan is worth two valuable guys on rookie contracts. Doesn't make a lick of sense. I don't see it happening. I do see possibilites for trades but not that one. We just lost a scoring threat PF and we have another one ready to step up in Meyers ...we need a 2 guard 3 pt shooter. Volume scorer in my opinion CJ is moveable, Crabbe is moveable, Vonleh is moveable Kaman is moveable but to me..Leonard is not going anywhere

If they don't move him, I think need to put Meyers in the starting lineup and let him continue to develop. He may turn into Marc Gasol for us.

I think this thread is great proof that Portland fans overvalue their own players
It's not that we "overvalue" our own players. Obviously Aldridge was at value of what most of us claimed. He got max!

CJ and Leonard are the bright spots. Something to look forward to. They may be just average players, but they could become very efficient and lethal weapons for us. I just want to see them play with minutes. Wanna see if they can hang.

Or you're overvaluing DD...

Career 27% from three
0.2 Vorp
Career 15 PER
Contract extension will come up when the cap goes way up

His style has steadily progressed into Rudy Gay territory - me me me basketball.

I hear you Mags, but neither are even close to sure things. We have plenty of potential in Vonleh and Plumlee at big positions, and Ed Davis who can backup both positions. Leonard probably has the most trade value of them all, and he's one of my favorite guys on the team, but he hasn't shown he is an all star level player yet. Neither has McCollum, and I just don't see his as anything other than a 6th man type. He looked awesome in the playoffs, but he was being guarded by Udrih and Calathes at times. I'm not convinced he is as good as blazer fans want to think he is. DD is a guy that is a bonafide all star caliber player.

CJ and Meyers are more valuable to us for rebuilding than other teams.

Don't make a trade for the sake of making a trade their needs to be an incentive to both teams.

We will look to acquire youth for either vets or overpaid contracts. Not the other way around.

I agree about CJ maybe not being a starter type player, but I like that he can create his shot and be a "dame light" when damn gets rest. Who knows they both may look good together. We really haven't had the opportunity to see it work.

I also agree that Leonard probably gives us the best trade chip, but this is the moment he can really jump out and do something amazing. He looks motivated and ready to show us who he really is. I like that!

Yeah; the downside of them realizing their potential on another team isn't worth the risk of us cashing in their upside now. If we were title contenders maybe we try to go that route but not when we're rebuilding.

Giving up Meyers would be like trading a young Jermaine Oneal for an old, Dale Davis..Oneal went on to be an allstar and we were so happy to get Davis who turned out to be less than spectacular

Well Duh. Aldridge got max. Blazers fans completely overvalue the young potential guys. "Let it bake"

100% this. You don't trade players that have upside while you rebuild unless that player is a game changer. I'm talking like Boogie caliber players.
