Ali is real sick. Sounds like the end is near. What a horrible year it's been for famous and talented people dying.

Hang in there, Champ.

A true American hero.

One of my biggest heroes as a child.

He is missed.

I'm going to find my copy of When We Were Kings and watch it tonight, one of my all time favorite documentaries.

Ali Bomaye! Ali Bomaye! Ali Bomaye!

Damn...rest in peace

He was one of the most elite athletes as I was growing up. A true hero and set a great example for all humanity to see. He had a home in Chicago and was in the public eye there. He was clearly a very smart man, and did us all proud.

@SlyPokerDog want to move my thread back here and merge with this one? It isn't basketball, but is surely of interest to most people.

The trailer of one of the best boxing documentaries of all time. Its main focus is "Rumble in The Jungle." A fight between Muhammmad Ali against George Foreman.

He was the ultimate trash talker. He said, "I am the greatest." And he proved it.

My mom met him twice when she was a flight attendant for Pan Am. She said he was the nicest guy, and he talked to her for 15-20 minutes on one flight. She had him on another flight and she said he wrote a little poem for a couple having their 50th anniversary and the captain read it over the loud speaker. A true gentleman out of the ring, but a fierce competitor in the ring.

Ali was a true legend...he put swagger in sports..float like a butterfly sting like a bee champ...end of suffering..RIP

Damn RIP to the Champ.

Best wishes for his family.

Can't think of Ali without hearing Howard Cosell's voice in my head. Hope they're sharing some memories tonight.

Bummer! RIP. Funny how reviled he was, for years. Then came the attempts to sanitize him. Both equally unfair. A fighter in and out of the ring. We'll not see his like again.

The movie with Will Smith is pretty much the extent of my knowledge of Muhammad Ali, yet this is still very sad to me. I'm gonna check out that documentary.

Should he be barred from the United States?

Just finished watching it. Won the Academy Award for Best Doc.

He lived long and had an eventful, remarkable life. His passing should be joyous for all of humanity that survive him for we can be continuously inspired and entertained by his legacy.

I don't feel any desire to mourn his passing, just gratefulness for having lived during his life time.

May all humans regardless of their status or station be treated as warmly in their passing as, Muhammad Ali aka Cassius Clay, shall deservedly be.
