Did he though? The addition of Nurkic has proven him correct on not giving someone like biyombo or Mozgov 70m in the summer. Everyone complains about Turners contract but he's a better play than either one of those guys. Or do you blame Olshey for not getting Whiteside to leave money on the table and life in Miami?

As for actual play, I'd argue that with Nurk, we are about to get to that next level. Wait until Turner gets back as well. That's our most consistent defender and another ballhandler.

    Season ain't over yet.

No inconsistency - Make consolidation trade, sign a beast who's gained some experience, is familiar with our system, and is cheap.

Of course, even if we traded Biebs for a first rounder in 2050, and signed Cliff, we'd be better right away!

Would you rather Leonard play than Cliff Alexander. I mean, dude, it'd be cool if we could get LeBron but we can't. NO has done great with what he has to work with. Drafted Lillard and CJ, signed Aminu on cheap, turned a non-lottery pick into Plumlee and flipped him for Nurkic, one of the best young centers in the league. I'm happy with how NO is doing.

Cant count Lillard. That was PAs pick. Olshey said that himself

I really like Alexander. I remember his High School highlights; people were talking about him being the next LeBron James.

It didn't quite work out like that though, did it?

Send Meyers to D-league, and pick up Alexander. I wanna see what he does.

The draft pick came from Chad Buchannon moving Gerald Wallace but Olshy drafted Lillard...scouted him the entire winter before the draft...

Hit: Damian Lillard, No. 6 overall 2012 draft
About three weeks after taking the job, Olshey changed the course of the franchise by drafting the Weber State point guard. It was a position of need, and Lillard was widely acknowledged as the best point guard, but many wondered if his game would translate to the big stage.

Hindsight: Good pick. Lillard was an unanimous pick for Rookie of the Year and has become one of the cornerstones of the franchise. Players he could have picked instead of Lillard: Harrison Barnes, Terrence Ross, Andre Drummond, Austin Rivers.

I know he was in charge. It just wasn't his pick. It had been decided on before he got here.

So if the Lillard pick was already decided, what about the Leonard pick? Seems hard to believe one would be set in stone, but not the other.

Nope. Olshey said he asked Lillard who he would choose, and Lillard said John Holmes. Buchanan and the previous staff identified Lillard early, and PA was on board with that pick.

What a load of shit. And you talk about me having an agenda? Lillard hadn't even worked out or interviewed with the Blazers before Olshey was hired, and it was actually Olshey who told Allen Lillard was the guy.

Or go with your conspiracy theory instead.

It's not a theory, it's literally what Olshey has stated himself

I disagree with this....Olshey traveled in a blizzard to scout Lillard....Olshey if anything knows the draft ..I heard Olshey talk about targeting Lillard and it had nothing to do with Buchanon except that he got the pick ...Olshey used it and Olshey runs everything by Paul Allen....more than likely they both wanted him...Olshey drafted him. Even if you don't like Olshey....when he gets something this right he's due some credit

Olshey is fine. I just dont think he deserves credit forvthe pick. Buchanon and PA were all over him before Olshey got here.
