Nurk gets up for cousins much like Leonard. That's gonna be a fun matchup.

I just dont know how to explain this in words, but that is a BIG GAME for us. If we win, we take out pelicans and we get a big motivation to play the next game vs spurs.

If NOP is smart, they will put Davis on Nurkic. I think his length would bother Nurk more than Cousins' strength/bulk. They can then put Cousins on Vonleh.

If that happens, look for Aminu to get big minutes at the 4 to force Davis out of the paint to let Nurkic bang down low with Cousins.

On the other end, look for NOP to pound the ball into Cousins down low early to try to get Nurkic in foul trouble. If Cousins gets the calls, it could mean early foul trouble for Nurkic. If not, it could mean and early technical for Cousins.

Then we can bring in Meyers to draw the second technical and ejection!

They're all big games. We need to beat the below .500 teams on our schedule both at home and on the road. We are currently two games back of DEN in the win column. We need to win all of our "winnable" games to catch them.

Cousins like to bang and then flail his arms about, I really can not see a scenario where Nurk does not get into foul trouble. And because there is little or no depth behind him with Davis out, I really do not like this match up.

Leonard always brings it against cousins. I'm more worried about Davis. Aminu is probably our best bet against him, but he'll probably go off either way. Our scheme might actually work against New Orleans though, because they can't shoot for shit.

Anybody think we will be possibly see both Nurk and Meyers playing alongside each other defending Davis and Boogie?

Maybe for a few spot minutes, but neither one of them really match up well with Davis. The good news is with Solomon Hill and Hollis Thompson in the starting line up, they are playing 3-5 on offense. So, we should be able to sag off those guys and help on Davis and Cousins.

They weren't a deep team to begin with, but losing Heald, Tyreke, Galloway, Jones and then with Casspi breaking his thumb and Jack tearing his meniscus, they are basically three guys and a rotation of 10-day contracts.

BNM

Pelis bigs are solid. Take into account how we play down to a teams level, I think we have a tough time tonight.

It's going to be a weird game. NOP is having trouble fitting together, but either, or both of Davis and Cousins are capable of going off for 50+ points against us. Nurk helps, but if they get him in early foul trouble, it's going to be a long night. Meyers has the size to bang with Cousins, but has a history of alternating between frustrating him and igniting him. You never know what's going to happen with Boogie (or Meyers for that matter).

Biased voting.

If both trades were on the table for us, prior to either being made, 99% of the people would have taken DMC.
DMC is an all star people. He was the bigger steal regardless of the teams record with him.
Sorry. Gotta KEEP IT REAL HERE.

Salary Implications were part of my vote for Nurkic. Also, retention. It's not obvious Boogie will re-sign with them, much more likely Nurkic re-signs with us.

Like someone on here said: Boogie likes to do a lot of that flailing bullshit. That's gonna get Nurk in trouble.

And Vonleh on Davis? Gee....that should go over well.

I wouldn't be surprised if we lose this, but I hope we don't. Go Blazers.

Expect a lot of Aminu at the 4, and as I said, we need to help off of Solomon Hill and Hollis Thompson EVERY time Davis or Cousins has the ball.

I mean seriously, Hill is averaging 6.5 ppg on .383 FG% and Thompson is at 3.8 ppg on .268 FG%. Those two would have trouble scoring 20 points between them if you locked them in a gym alone and let them play 2-on-0 for an hour.

If Pat Connaughton was playing for NOP, he'd be starting right now - and would be their 4th best starter.

BNM

I'd also put Harkless on Holiday as much as possible. He kills Dame/C.J. with his length, but with Evans, Heald, and Galloway all gone, they don't really have any big guards or small forwards that can hurt us. Hide Dame and C.J. on Hill and Thompson as much as possible. Jordan Crawford can score, but he makes Dame and C.J. look like first team all defense on the other end.

BNM

I have a feeling Nurk is gonna get jobbed by the refs against Cousins.

If you define a steal as talent incoming vs talent outgoing then it is definitely the Pelicans.

If you are talking which team fared better from their trade then it would have to be the Blazers.

If you thought Gortat was a tough matchup for Nurk wait until this one.

If the Pelicans aren't phoning it in he is going to have a real tough night on the defensive end. Offensively he's going to be limited to playing off the guards.

- Noah is going to need to stay out of foul trouble which will be tough.
- We will really miss Big Ed in this one, he'd be the difference maker in this game.
- Our guards will have to be locked in on defense because the bigs will have their hands full with the Pelicans bigs
- Shabazz could be a needed boost off the bench defensively
- Should stretch the Pelicans defense and force Boogie to move around on the defensive end

If I were Terry I would have already talked to Nurk about shooting 3's and this would be the game I would get his feet wet in that regard. Cousins won't want to come out and guard him unless he's knocking them down. The more he pops the more it's going to spread the court and open up the lane for the guards or the wings in the corner.

From my travels, Sacramento, OKC, Orlando, and Houston all make the bad part of the list.
What are your factors for ranking them?

I'd probably give points for Food/Weather/Traffic/Hotels/Airport

Houston is the worst.

Best kinda depends on the type of person you are.

I think New Orleans is a cool place.
