I was trying to be reasonable in offering to revue of and amendment. I could be persuaded to support changes. But until I see a specific change, noway do I support any change to the amendment or infringement of the right to bare arms.

My opinion on this whole situation........ It would be great to get rid of all the guns everywhere. I feel society would be safer that way. I actually have lost more close friends growing up getting shot in NE Portland over the years, than I did in the military if you can believe that. Literally every one of them would be alive if there were no guns on the streets. That said, I understand people’s “wanting” them. I don’t feel people “need” them. Just my opinion. I know we can’t ban guns, but I am all for making it harder for them to get their hands on them. Whatever it takes. Make it as difficult as possible.
You disappointed me yesterday when you and others were blasting the kids who were voicing their opinions about the gun situation. They are using the same rights to be heard as you and your friends are to carry. Don’t understand why you guys on here were so upset at them. I would be so proud of my kids if they felt so strongly about ANY topic. Strong enough to share their values and beliefs like that to the public.
I have two kids who go to schools here in town. My youngest one is 12 and she came up to us the other night and looked me in my eyes and asked if she should be worried about somebody at her school doing the same to her and her friends. Man, I don’t know if you have children, but that was a blow straight to the gut. For somebody like myself who has put country before himself to defend people rights, this one hurt. I don’t want my little girl even thinking about something like that happening to her in a place she should feel safe.
I’ve seen 2 people shot and killed in my life........ I do not want guns on our streets.
I wonder what it would take to change the minds of people like yourself who so strongly believe they should be.

Seeing what hot rounds do to human skin did it for me.

You and the others have every right to your opinions obviously, but maybe step back a bit and see where those with differing views are coming from. Especially on such a heated topic. This goes for both sides of this debate. The hatred around here honestly scares me sometimes.

Hope nothing tragic like this happens to any of you on here regardless of your views.
