Being realistic Happ woud be a most likely acquisition. A cheap rental by todays standards knows AL East Teams . Gardiners option may not be renewed but he's solid in left. Frazier would be a heir apparent keep him as well. The rest of them can get gone. Sonny Gray, dude is on many talk show and sports page shit list.

Happ won't necessarily be a rental...the Yanx have the money and though he's 35, if he performs as expected the Yanx may very well bring him back for another year and he's relatively cheap. I think Frazier has a better chance as a trade chip than he's does being a regular Yankee OFer...Judge, Hicks, and Stanton pretty much have the OF covered for the foreseeable future, so IMO, there's no need to keep both Gardner and Frazier...deal at least one of them while they still have value.

Hal Steinbrenner had an Interview with Meredith Marakovits saying he has a considerable amount of Money to spend and has no problem spending it.

then I wish too hell he'd start spending, but with more than One chaperone when he does. This team needs a legit SP or 2, and imo it wouldn't hurt to give some of the Farm Club SP's a look and see....
Regardless most of these guys noted need to go asap, esp Gray...

Christ that could be scary with Cashman in charge. If the Yankees could pass some dough for a couple decent starters to put behind Sevey fine. The position players are pretty much set and under control. Glad to see that this team costs lees money with potentially better results.

^^^This...starting with The Babe, the Yanx have always been built around a balance of home grown players and also with hired mercenaries...hell, you're about the same age so I'm sure you can remember back in the day when the Kansas City A's were essentially a farm team for the Yanx.

^^^Slaughter, Boyer, Shantz, Maris, et al.

One helluva story for those too young to recall ...
History of the KC/Oakland Athletics: -
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_the_Oakland_Athletics

1st MLB Game I ever attended: KC-A's Municipal Stadium, Of course the greats were all gone by then; while the 2nd volly of (KC) A's were yet to arrive ...

(prior home of the KC Blues: Yanx AAA Team until 1953).

I think unless frazier is traded gardner gone after this year. I don't want to see frazier traded unless its in a deal for one of degrom, syndegard or baumgarner, Happ mediocre at best and just got rung up for 7 runs in a couple of innings the other day by some team. For playoffs no problem going with seve, cc and tanaka and in series needing a 4th starter whichever one of the kids is pitching better there. Don't want to give up major assets for happ type pitcher. Either legitimate 1 or 2 or stay with what you have.

And I think better chance of acquiring Degrom than most people think. Mets are total shit and can only get better with a haul of both ready made to play players like frazier, austin and drury along with minor leaguers like sheffield, abreau, and another pitcher or position player. Yanks are their best matchup to trade with

Actually I can remember the Philadelphia A's Was taken to Shibe Park as a young kid. Enos Slaughter came to the Yankees from St Louis. Bauer was the starting right Fielder and lead off man from '49 through '60 until the Yankees sent him to KC for Maris. And there were smaller deals twixt the Yankees and KC A's. Bauer though was a long time favorite of mine, a WWII Marine Major he took his game seriously. Once got into Mantle and Fords shit when they got a bit cocky. Yep those were days.

...I read that the Mutts were gonna call up Tim fucking Tebow...so yeah, I think they've officially thrown in the towel.

"The first actual trade occurred on May 11, 1955 when the A's dealt pitcher Sonny Dixon and cash for pitcher Johnny Sain and outfielder Enos Slaughter. The A's made a few more cash deals that season with the Tigers, Indians, Dodgers and Pirates. In 1956, the A's made three more deals with Yankees, and in one of the deals, they sold their best hitter, outfielder Enos Slaughter, back to the Yankees on a waivers claim on August 25. Yep but Slaughter was a Yankee First before all of the KC When that deal was made the line of a "Championship Player is going to a Championship Team " branded as a poor excuse for a trade. I remember some asshole telling me Slaughter was placed in the outfield to get balls that Mantle couldn't get to. Anyone who ever seen Mantle play in the '50s and somewhat into the 60's knew that Mantle was faster than a speeding bullet. My mother was an A's fan from the time they were in Philly on out through Oakland. Bobby Shantz was heard often in my house.

Bobby Shantz...I saw an interview years ago with Billy Crystal (Yanx fan) and he was talking about the first time he met Ted Willams, and Billy said something to the effect of "I saw you at Yankee Stadium when I was a kid and saw Bobby Shantz strike you out."...Billy said that Ted thought for a second and said. "Yup, fastball, low and away". Evidently, Ted's memory was exceptional.

Teddy Ball Game. When living in Orlando I was the Parts Manager for a CATV Company having locations in West, Central, and South Florida. Got to know a n Installation Services Contractor that had great relations with the Spring Training Teams in and around Orlando. Saw a couple of games at Tinker with the Yanks, and more than a few Yankees/Stros Kissimme ball yard. In his last years Teddy Ballgame lived in Citrus County. When his crew was assigned work close to Williams house my man managed to meet Williams, talk baseball. and the two were photographed together. That was top of the line in my book. William did not sit down for his .406 he went out there, played ball, and earned it.

...yeah, I saw the Twins play a Tinker Field when I was in Little League living in Longwood...had a blast.

...I have no problem saying that Williams deserved the MVP hands down in 1941 and not Dimaggio, ...Williams' career OBP of .482 still blows my mind and will probably never be broken.

epic stuff 59- priceless memories ...

Gotta' admit the Twinkies of the 60's were great:
Killebrew
Oliva
Allison
Kaat
Mudcat Grant
Jim Perry
and later the great Rod Carew, as were those noted above...

Higashioka again goes yard, 3-0 Good Guys.

To me its Degrom or pretty much bust on the pitchers. Will cost a lot of assets but yanks can afford it as a lot of excess with jobs blocked at the major league level and plenty of prospects in high A and double A that will need to be protected from the rule 5 draft. Figure it out and go get him cash. And degrom is the only pitcher that I'm putting frazier in a deal for, If no degrom keep frazier till next year and he's the LF when hardy not resigned. And more free agent food for thought. No room for harper in OF for next year but he has been working out at first for the nationals. If bird continues to get hurt and suck harper might be a possibility in free agency at first base.

Seems to me Harper has a spoiled little boy pompous attitude. I don't think His chemistry would fit on this team well.
Ntm- word has it he'll be looking for 40 million a year, way too pricey for the Yanks

any position.

I agree that someone like Degrom/Thor should be the main focus...but I don't see Frazier as ever being able to be a regular OFer with Judge, Hicks, and Stanton already penciled in for the foreseeable future...and personally, I don't want Harper in pinstripes at any position.

...I think both Frazier and/or Andujar might be dealt. You can add, Ellsbury, Drury, Shreve, Gray, Walker, Florial, Sheffield, Abrieu, and Gardner to the list.

The Yankees are showing interest in Mike Moustakas to Play 1st Base as per The Yes Network.
