I've been looking for something that this great community of fans could do together. In talking with the Blazers and some of you on here I would like to throw out the following proposal to you. Something to honor Blazer great Bill Schonely and to give back to some of our first and longest term Blazer fans.

Bill Schonely and the First Fans Project:

The idea is this, take one of the area senior centers or nursing homes and install a bigger TV and soundbar in their community room. Maybe throw up a little fresh paint. Just make it a little easier and nicer for our longest time Blazer fans to watch their favorite team.

When we're done we'll have a viewing party and unveiling with Bill Schonely in attendance. We'll put a plaque up on the wall naming the room after Schonz and maybe get a little recognition for RipCityTwo.

I think this is something that we can do and I know it would help. Some of those senior centers and nursing homes could use a little love. If any of you have ideas or connections on how to make this better or happen easier let me know. It would be nice if we could maybe include a new/newer computer in the community room.

This would be something that we could do yearly around the Portland area or even Oregon.

If you guys say yes I will hit up Standard TV and Appliance and see what kind of deal they can give us.

What I need from you guys is money and some labor.

And yes, if we make this happen I will do my best to get some Blazer Dancers there for the unveiling/viewing party.

Depending on time, me and Eric would probably be willing to document it!

I like it! If its on a weekend I would do everything I can to be there. I know its very early but the only weekend I know I am out of town in the near future is october 19th through 21st.

I would probably have a 4 year old (she’s sort of helpful) .

How does this unveiling/viewing repayment work?

Wait, the Blazers Dancers are going to unveil

New computer
New TV.

Hmm, seems like @SlyPokerDog is asking us to improve his retirement home.

I was wondering

I cannot contribute monetarily but I can contribute time and labor. I'm willing to help Barry way I can.

Any ideas or suggestions of a senior center or nursing home? Some place that could use and appreciate some help?

No way anything will be happening this Saturday, lol.

Awesome!

First place that comes to mind is the place in Milwaukie off Railroad ave where MGB was. Not sure if there's blazers fans there or not.

That's a cool idea. Worth checking out. You mind doing it?
