SEASON SERIES NOTES
• Denver won the season series against Portland in 2018-19, 3-1. All four games were decided by single digits.
• In four games against the Nuggets, Damian Lillard averaged 21.3 points (37.1% FG, 28.6% 3-PT, 95.8% FT), 3.8 rebounds and 7.0 assists. Lillard shot 23-of-24 from the free-throw-line against Denver this season.
• CJ McCollum averaged 20.0 points (45.3% FG, 26.3% 3-PT, 100% FT), 4.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in three games against the Nuggets this season.
• In four games against the Nuggets, Al-Farouq Aminu averaged 16.0 points (50.0% FG, 31.6% 3-PT, 94.7% FT), 11.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.00 steal. His 16.0 points per game was his highest scoring average against a Western Conference opponent this season.
• Nikola Jokic averaged 25.7 points (62.0% FG, 38.5% 3-PT, 76.9% FT), 9.7 rebounds, 8.0 assists and 1.00 steal in three games against the Trail Blazers this season.

PLAYOFF SERIES NOTES
• Portland and Denver have faced each other twice previously in the postseason, with each team winning one series.
• The Trail Blazers and Nuggets are 5-5 against each other in the playoffs, all-time.
• The Trail Blazers defeated the Nuggets 4-2 in the 1977 NBA Western Conference Semifinals despite Denver holding home court advantage. Portland won the NBA Championship that year.
• The Nuggets took a five-game first round series vs. the Trail Blazers in 1986, 3-1.
• Former Trail Blazers Will Barton and Mason Plumlee have playoff experience with the Trail Blazers. Barton averaged 6.4 points, 1.7 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 11.6 minutes in six games during the 2014 postseason vs. Houston and San Antonio. Plumlee posted averages of 7.0 points, 11.8 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 1.00 block and 27.8 minutes in 11 starts vs. the LA Clippers and Golden State in 2016.
• The series is only Portland’s second playoff matchup against a divisional opponent since facing the Lakers in 2002 as members of the Pacific Division. Entering this postseason vs. divisional rivals Oklahoma City and Denver, the Trail Blazers had never faced a Northwest Division opponent since the division was formed in 2004-05.

CONNECTIONS
• Portland center Jusuf Nurkic averaged 7.5 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 139 games (59 starts) in two-plus seasons with the Nuggets. Nurkic was acquired by the Trail Blazers in exchange for Mason Plumlee and a 2017 first round pick on Feb.13, 2017. Plumlee averaged 9.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 136 games (all starts) across two seasons in Portland.
• Denver guard Will Barton was selected by the Trail Blazers with the 40th pick of the 2012 NBA Draft. He averaged 3.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 144 games (five starts) in two-plus seasons with Portland.
• Trail Blazers forward/center Skal Labissiere and Denver guard Jamal Murray were teammates at the University of Kentucky for the 2015-16 season.

Win the game, win the series. 19 years since WCF. I never saw Portland this good. We have a chance against everybody, but man, if we had Nurk I would feel real good aboutt our chances going to the Finals

Blazers win game 4, it is an almost guaranteed trip to the WCF. Lose game 4, Denver regains the home court advantage and probably rides the momentum to a series victory. Both teams are going to be tired and both are banged up - though Portland is probably the worse off in that department. Will Denver be POed they lost a game they could easily have won, or will they be disheartened? What marching orders will the refs have from the league, the networks (and the bookies)?

Too many subplots! How can anybody predict what is going to happen?

I will...We win game 4 & 5

We need this game. My spidey senses tell me that the NBA hopes for a long series and might give the Nuggets some breaks this game. Got to ignore the reffing and baller through this shit.
The way the refs call the game last night to me they tried to give the game to them. Refs can't be that blind about how jokic plays on defense. You fouls majority of the times. One was when Jokic was battling Kanter on the block I counted at least 3 fouls they should have called a foul. Then later in the game Kanter falls down and they call foul on Kanter. Know bad about the NBA commissioner was sitting there watching this bull shit refereeing. I am not saying they didn't miss some on us for fouling them. But the ones I see Jokic getting away with these are right in front of the referee watching this want gets me.

Welcome to the NBA. Blazers got some calls too. I’m just saying Blazers need to prepare themselves for lopsided calls, play better, and win

I been watching the NBA for awhile and I also know there about as they get. But it seems they get worse every year.

Wondering what adjustments will be made for game four.It seems to me Malone needs to figure out a way to play his bench without a huge drop off. Not sure Jokic can continue to play at that level for as long as he is being asked to play?
Guess it depends on who the Blazers can put on the floor.

What is funny if you read any nugget forum, they will say that the Nuggets are getting hosed by the officials and all calls are going the Blazers way and anyone outside of Portland, according to the nuggets fan, feel that same way. Guess no one is ever happy with the officiating.

Anybody else starting to believe that these two teams are gonna be doing this for a few years to come?
The passing of the torch.
Bye-Bye Warriors, you had a memorable run but there are Blazers and Nuggets in your rear view.

Warriors will be beatable once KD leaves this summer. And yes I think he’s leaving.

Overall the officiating been bad in all series. But when somebody did what Jokic did to Kanter at the free throw line right in front of the base line official then I have problem with that. Official going miss some calls I understand that but what there allowing Jokic to do some of that board line dirty crap right there in front of official then the league needs start suspending official and take money out of there pockets. Because this league won't hesitate throw a fine at the player if they complain about the officials.

They need to watch BBALL BREAKDOWN'S Game 2 breakdown.

The future is bright with Dame, CJ, Simons, Collins, Harkless and Nurk. We can lock them up for a few more years. But we need Neil to come up big this summer. (Kanter and Hood or someone of equal talent) Plus we need an upgrade at starting PF and it has to come cheap. Someone who has been overlooked that comes out of no where...since we can't afford anyone else.
