Power Move is Needed

The Raptors are also in the position swing for the fences with some major expiring contracts and the need for a star.

This is when you gotta get creative, maybe offer Baze, Trent, and two first round picks for Aaron Gordon? Obviously deal would have to be made in august.

Clippers were only 5 games behind the Blazers last year. Think Kawhi and PG13 closes that gap?

just a little; but already somebody here is talking about the Blazers being better. Cart about 8 miles before the horse

Who knows, no matter what the Clippers will take some time to mesh as a team. While we have a lot of moving pieces too, our core remains intact. That means something.

If both have teams that need to gel (Portland will have 3 new starters as well to start the season) it's tough to argue very hard against the team that has a 2-time Finals MVP and a stud on BOTH offense and defense.

Blazers make needed changes....

Jazz loaded up.....

This is going to be a knock down, drag out season.

Oh I know how good the Clippers just got but as the rosters are currently constructed, when healthy we have arguably the most balanced roster in the NBA right now.

I'm not sure if we are closer to contending next season or rebuilding.

Warriors got D'Angelo who will be much better than Durant next season, they got some nice minor signings, Curry and Draymond were incredible in the playoffs. Hell they swept us without Durant.

Lakers have an amazing Duo.

Utah made great moves and might be the #1 seed.

Clippers are likely the west favorite. Kawhi has load managament, George is still recovering from surgery.

Denver is still improving. Houston seems to alway make good minimum signing additions.

I wouldn't be shocked if we won more than any of these teams or finished behind any of them.

It's crazy, we could legit be anywhere from #1 to #7 seed!

Ibaka for Baze/Tolliver works come Aug/Sept. We'd have to include something else and it would hurt our wing depth.

Ibaka isn't worth tit nor is he the type of player to put us over a team like the Clippers IMO.

Its gonna be awesome, so tired of one team having all the talent and everyone else having to hope they have injuries...

The price is just Baze and Tolliver lol I’d do that trade any day of the week.

I don't want to put too much stock into Summer League, but the value of our young core could rise with a strong performance from Simons, Trent, Skal, and Nassir. I'm still unsure if we should go all-in by trading away potential stars (major Drazen and Jermaine flashbacks) for established ones already. I do think Neil waits until Baze and Hassan's contracts are able to be moved and a month or two of regular season action passes to see just how close we are to contention as well as the internal development of the aforementioned young core plus the likely starting power forward in Zach Collins. The worst thing we could do is move a player like him now and miss out on his (potential) breakout year (ie: Pascal Siakam).

Lastly, and most importantly, we have NO idea on what Nurk's timeline looks like or how long it'll take him to regain his pre-injury form. It may take a full season so going all in this year would be a waste. With Kawhi not joining the Lakers, there are no super teams in the NBA and it looks to be very much open for a plethora of teams to challenge for the title for the foreseeable future. We have maintained our cap flexibility with our summer moves to date and could make our move next summer. I know a lot of us don't want to wait, but we might have to given what we have in terms of assets (Young Core) and Nurkic.

The 2020 free agency class is terrible, so it has to be a trade

Tolliver doesn't since we signed him.
