I'm pretty sure the movie Dante's Peak was only 23 years ago.
 
We shouldn't be calling Helen a saint anymore after she aborted her magma baby.
 
I have posted my fascinating story on this event before. I do not wish to retype it. Those of you who don't memorize my posts will have to suffer in ignorance.

For the archaeologists of a thousand years in the future who discover this buried message board, and know my story about finally washing the lava off my car over a year later when I quit Boeing and moved to Bellingham, I will add this picture to describe the Flintstonian car wash at which I stopped.

I saw it while driving to a topless bar on or near Barbur Blvd. My dad saw it from his office window on the upper level of a tall office building near the Lloyd Center.

I was on the Columbia water skiing , it was one of those days where it was crystal clear and everything looked close up. We immediately saw the plume but the explosion we didn't hear at all, went right over us.

I never heard the explosion and I was in Lake Oswego.
