I wonder if this will have any impact of the broadcast team

This feels like a money grab.

Who has Root sports? A quick search shows no streaming TV services currently carry it.

Ugh. YouTube TV has been great.

I'm guessing it will be a paid add-on for more

I thought the switched from root to nbc because root was only with comcast? Without comcast you cant get it?

maybe im way off on that.

Putting it on the Seattle sports channel with 2 other Seattle teams with the NHL team coming in, good move with how limited its streaming options are for cord cutters :mook:

I'm waiting until there is an official announcement from the Blazers. If the Blazers move to a different channel I hope there will be better pregame and postgame programming about the Blazers because ComcastNWSportsWhatever has not been good.

Only thing that's going to suck for me is I'd have to watch the games live if it's bootleg streams. I'm used to watching replays and skipping commercials (saves me about 1hr/game) with YTTV cloud DVR.
Good point. There is a site which uploads replays by quarter... I'm not sure how soon they do it. But if it's within an hour or so it might be worth it.

Pretty sure Root can switch the feeds based off of where the channel is being seen. Down here in South Texas we get Spurs on 'Fox Sports SW' and they also have the Dallas Stars. If SA is playing, that's the game they feed, if they aren't then we get Stars games if there is a conflict.

The Blazers do not care about their fans (see the Comcast deal in 07 which alienated a large portion of the fan base).

Down here Stars is also a crappy knock off of Sonic Drive Ins ... it's pretty forgettable since I've lived here 11 years and been there once. We could use a few PDX versions of Stars down here.

You used to be a cable installer, right? Work you magic, yo! :bgrin:

i dont work for free!

so much this. If i have to waste 45 minutes a game sitting through commercials, ill likely just catch the highlights and not watch anymore. Life moves too quick and i have too many other things i can use that time for.

this is just a stupid move in my opinion.
Blazers looking to drop tv viewership ratings? This is how ya do it...

So, the only way to watch will be to switch to comcast?

Well, on the bright side, when we are running back the Stotts/Dame/CJ rerun next season I can happily not pay to watch it.
