Dame
Powell
Simons
Nance
Nurk

more ball movement moves CJ to bench and allows him to hog the ball on 2nd unit. Nance provides everything Roco does but better movement and passing. Simons has been our most consistent guard.

That would be worse (and I'm a big fan of Simons).

The team needs to trade CJ for Simmons (Im back on the "on again/off again/on again" bandwagon). Norman is a better fit, and I think Powell and Simons are enough of a good combo to makeup for any perceived offense that they'd lose with CJ.

But good lord, 3 guard lineups aren't working. Nor is invisible Roco.

Never in a million years will CJ come off the bench.
Zeller should start for Nurk and Nance for Roco. But it would be nice to have Snell in there too.

One of three things needs to happen.

Either Powell comes off the bench and they replace him with Nance or Little

CJ comes off the bench and they replace him with Nance or Little (and swing Powell over to the SG spot)

OR they trade Powell or CJ for something.

Agree. And I don’t think Zeller has near the talent of Nurk. But Nurk needs to get the message, quick. Roco is damn near useless.

Stop. This is the nba your not going to sit a near max player for a young kid whose still on his rookie deal. I’m not saying it shouldn’t happen but it would never happen

It should be the second part of option 3.

There's nothing wrong with this team right now other than Dame being in a very unusual shooting slump as the Blazers continue to find their way through a very different philosophy of offense and defense.

Look around the West. All but two teams have at least three losses already. We spotted Sacramento and Cleveland a quarter and lost those two games by six combined points. If we win both of those, we're tied for third.

We don't need to panic and make changes right now. Give them a couple of more weeks to see what coalesces. Three games ago CJ was the bright spot of the team; now we're benching him or trading him again, oy vey.

Dame/Ant/Smith
Powell/Ant
Simmons/Little
Nance/Simmons/Brown
Nurk/Zeller

More length, more passing, more defense....and more shots for guys who are actually making them.

Our best possible trade would be CJ + Nurk for KAT and then decide if RoCo is worth keeping

Glancing aT the numbers, based on the shots attempted if dame made his career average(not going crazy, his normal Dame) we would have won every game except the clippers blowout.

How about:
Dame/cj
Powell/Simons
Little/snell
Nance/roco
Nurk/Zeller

I’m all for a new starting lineup!

KAT / Zeller
Nance / RoCo / Brown
Nas / Snell
Powell / Ant
Dame / Smith

CJ & Nurk + pick to Minny

Thank you! It’s really funny how some of you can go from one end of the spectrum to the other so quick.

Great idea that will never happen.

No, our best possible trade is Blevins for Giannis, which is only marginally less likely than the one you've proposed.

Can we just assume that you will propose trades for KAT in perpetuity, or at least until either you or he is dead?

CJ hasn't been a bright spot since game 2. Over the last 6 games, his TS% is 0.496. Last season it was .577. His career mark is .553. The league average is around .555. Over the last 2 seasons, his assist/turnover ratio was 2.7; this season it's 1.5

I think the ending lineup is a much bigger concern. As long as Dame and CJ are here (with those big salaries), Chauncey will feel obligated to play them. Accordingly, Ant can't get burn (no matter how hot) and if Powell is in we're undersized with no POA defense.

I think that ideally the ending lineup should vary on matchup and the only one guaranteed to be out there is Dame, with a combo of the other 8 guys in the rotation who have been playing best that game.

It is more and more apparent that CJ just has to be moved. Salaries/objectives don't work but I'd rather have a guy like Marcus Smart (yeah, not as good as CJ, we'd need to get something else) who we could bench at end of games depending on matchup, could fulfill a need as a POA defender, and could slide up to guard 3s or even 4s making Powell a switchable 2 (that can guard some 1s and 3s).

Lillard (34) /Smart (14)
Powell (28) /Simons (20)
Smart (14)/Little (24)/Covington (10)
Covington (20)/Nance (28)
Nurkic (28) /Zeller (20)

That's a less talented team, but it's no doubt more versatile.
