Ben should be in the rotation when they need him and if he is playing well. I would rather play Little when he is healthy.

I think they should play McLemore 4-5 minutes a half, reducing CJ and Dame's minutes 4-5minutes a half. They are both playing about 35 minutes a game, getting them down to 30ish. If Ben is cooking he gets more minutes, if not you keep him limited.

There's a reason he hasn't succeeded in this league and doesn't ever play. Now we want him to get meaningful minutes for our two best players?

It figures: Zack Collins, Foot injury~Out.

C'mon. Ben played a good game. Glad he did well. Seems like he earned it.
The hell he did! We were missing 3 people ahead of him. The minutes fell into his lap and he stepped up like he was paid to do. Props to him, but let's not fool ourselves like he needs to get more run now. Like I said above, there is a reason he doesn't play. Fans always do that, just because somebody comes in and has a few good minutes, they need to be "FREED" from their much deserved spot on the bench. Not EVERYBODY can be the star. It's like you guys and @THE HCP on here.

Then why in the blue hell is he even on the roster? At least with a few performances like last night we might be able to flip him for a second round pick. The amount of dead wood on this roster is ludicrous.

The season is a long winding and treacherous journey my friend. #PracticeBodies

BTW, am I the only one who feels a vague pleasure at seeing Collins screwing another team? At this point, how much would you be willing to bet on that injury even being legit?

Isn't the goal to have Dame and CJ fresh at the end of the year? instead of burned out like the last few years? Getting fewer minutes each game would help them as the season progresses.

A reasonable argument. You must be new here! :devilwink:

Not questioning that at all.

I think you up Norm's minutes if you have to, but I don't need end of the bench/career players out there for long stretches.

Norm is already at 29 minutes a game, so you want to run him into the ground so he worn out at the end of the season? Seems like he should stay around 30 also.

Yes. Better that then scrubs getting valuable time. This team will battle for the 8-10 position anyway, so if you want to give bench scrubs playing time NOW, won't matter how tired our key guys are in April. They'll be on a beach somewhere.

This current team is in NO position to consider ANY type of load management.

Last note on Zach he will be ready after Christmas and right now he on the floor working out.

wait...are you saying you think he's faking...or at least embellishing the injury?

I think Collins was significantly overrated by some Blazer fans (I remember a detailed comparison saying Zach was Portland's Siakam); I also would not be surprised if Collins has a very limited career whenever it is that he does get back on the court. I have no reason to suspect it's not a legit injury.

that's not exactly what the note was. Popovich was asked about and he said something like "I'm told he'll be ready sometime after Christmas, whatever that means". Essentially, he was saying after XMas at the same time he was expressing some skepticism about the forecast. Next May is after Christmas; so is next November

Then you can add "Pop" to the equation. Pop really never says anything regarding that kind of stuff. He is also always a bit wishy washy with the press.

He also said he doing some stuff on the floor even if it's light work it's right direction.

When you think of it, he spent more time on rehab equipment than with a basketball in hand.
