Watch out here. He might come back and make you wish he never left.

wait...are you saying you think he's faking...or at least embellishing the injury?

I think Collins was significantly overrated by some Blazer fans (I remember a detailed comparison saying Zach was Portland's Siakam); I also would not be surprised if Collins has a very limited career whenever it is that he does get back on the court. I have no reason to suspect it's not a legit injury.

that's not exactly what the note was. Popovich was asked about and he said something like "I'm told he'll be ready sometime after Christmas, whatever that means". Essentially, he was saying after XMas at the same time he was expressing some skepticism about the forecast. Next May is after Christmas; so is next November

Then you can add "Pop" to the equation. Pop really never says anything regarding that kind of stuff. He is also always a bit wishy washy with the press.

I think both DSJ and Mac should get more minutes when appropriate. More rest for Dame, fewer shots for CJ is a good thing

When you think of it, he spent more time on rehab equipment than with a basketball in hand.

The goal should be to have Dame and the player we got back in a trade for CJ rested and fresh at the end of the year.

If Dame is out for a long while lets say 2 months at least and we are basically out of the playoff picture I'd say just have him take the rest of the year off and make as sure as possible that injury has healed

no, siakam was always considered the ceiling. I also made a similar comparison because their second years were nearly identical.

statistically similar?...ok. I like stats but comparisons don't end at stats all the time. In this case they were so obviously different as players it was an awkward comparison. Zach was/is a little different anyway; it's hard to think of good comps for him. AD is too elite; Jaren Jackson is younger; Porzingas? too unicorn? Keith Van Horn was a lot more fluid on offense. Larry Nance was way more athletic. Myles Turner might be a closer comp, but again, that might have been Zach's ceiling

So far this season Portland is 15th in the league in assists. Last year they were dead last. You move the ball, you significantly improve your odds of winning. Same with rebounding and defending. I don’t believe a team can be a contender without doing at least two of those three well. We’re 19th in rebounding and bottom third in defensive rating.

The holes are very clear. We need more size and we need to trade our most ISO heavy player (CJ). Also, Nance needs to start over Roco but that’s a different discussion

If olshey can’t accept that reality (or won’t because of his ego) he needs to go ASAP.

Dunno what this has to do with today’s game but I didn’t feel like starting another thread.

If you want fewer shots for CJ, WHO do you want shooting more? Please do not say DSJ and Mac….. PLEASE don’t do it.

In a normal situation, I would always agree. This team MIGHT not even make the playoffs bro as is, let alone if you rest our backcourt.
