Multiple league sources with knowledge of the situation cited player frustration with Billups’ coaching demeanor and the team’s offensive system.

Don't give these trolls any ink BGD....they're just sowing dysfunction into the team that's not there. These are jinx tweets at best my friend.
Its also a guy making a big deal about one sentence from a much bigger article by Fischerlast week that has been discussed ad nauseum.

I'd be surprised if it's to that point already. But I also would not be surprised if there is plenty of frustration right now, especially if the Blazers keep losing games like they have been. That frustration might not be pointed at Billups though. But he's not going to get a free pass from the players either. They all know this is his first HC job and that he has almost no coaching experience. I think he made a mistake in trying to use the media to motivate his players

I bet it's only those players we all suspect. Logically think about the rest of the lineup.

Dame? If he was complaining, he'd either want out or Chauncey fired.

Norman. Seems like the kind of player who calls people out on their shit.

Little? Playing better than he has before and given more freedom.

Simons. See above. Also said he prefers to have this kind of coaching.

Nance. Finally getting the starting gig.

Zeller? he's a vet min, so who cares.

The rest? Either rookies (Brown) or Scrubs/lucky (CJe, Kelvin, Snell, McLemore) to be in the league.

That leaves who....

Hopefully 3 guys on their way out of town soon?
Also, possibly Powell, but hopefully not.

I meant to include Norman in the original post, but spaced.

Is Norm in a package for Simmons a thing? Would Dame/CJ/Simmons/Nance/Nurk win games?

When players who have been let to do what they please and have adopted lackadaisical habits, are then given structure and accountability, there will be pushback.

My guess - Multiple League Sources = A certain players agent

Especially when a player who has been given the green light on offense and a pass on defense, is all the sudden having to change his game completely (or somewhat) AND has been giving hints about leaving to media members lately AND has had sub-par body language on the court.

Not saying I don't blame him/them for feeling that way (though not condoning it). But as I said earlier, going through the roster, there doesn't seem to be a lot of players who seem to be likely the complainers. That's not to say someone like Nassir or Anfernee (who I listed as less than likely candidates) couldn't be complaining about the way Chauncey comes off....but Nassir grew up in a military home, and I'm sure has seen his fair share of "abrasive" parenting styles, and Simons himself said he thrives when he is challenged/etc.

My personal order (which I will readily admit could be 100% bullshit) is Nurk, Roco and CJ.

Nurk because he's whined about shit before, RoCo because he just doesn't look like he's engaged with the teams offense or defense and lastly, CJ because he's seeing his role drastically changing.

Popovich or Phil Jackson are two of the greatest coaches in the history of basketball, and guess what, they were both assholes, and we need a asshole who is hard on the players because they are soft pussys

Their players loved them. At least their best player.

LOL...c'mon man

Jackson and Popovich combined to win over 2500 regular season games, 400 playoff games, and 16 NBA championships

Billups has won 11 games. Do you really think either of those coaches called their players out thru the media before they won 10 NBA games?

To be fair, neither of them had this type of non-efforting roster that early on.

Sure that's true, my main problem with the team is we saw how good they can be when they play hard and motivation, but only a few games, they should do that a lot more, even McCollum was not that bad on defense in some games. Billups is absolutely right but the players have let him down to often

Maybe Stotts still plays a role here, he let the players do whatever they want, and his DNA is maybe still in the team

Said Lillard: “I’m in [Billups’] office regularly. We’re like, ‘How do we do this? What do you want to see?’ I’m asking him, ‘What can I do to help myself? What do you see that can do better?’ We are having these conversations face to face, but you have people on the outside that want so bad for there to be drama.” Billups said his meetings with Lillard have led to more plays for Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic, thus opening up the offense for the guards. The head coach said through his talks in those meetings, he has also changed up the plays to make the offense “more comfortable” for Lillard and CJ McCollum.

So, is Lillard the coach too then? Sounds like he is doing Chauncey's job for him.

i know it's easy to put a negative slant on everything right now, justifiably. But having a star and coach in sync is something to build upon. There's a lot more quotes in that article than the one i posted, fwiw.
