They would most likely have to deal Marte if they want Soto. Idk, this is the first time in a while we have this type of upward trajectory. I say you let it ride on your squad. Damn that would be a fun line up, though.

giving up Marte and Kirby is too much. Although it’s so damn intriguing I’d still probably do it.

Hancock has to stay if Kirby is going tho

If they can go .500 through the next 12-16 games the schedule REALLY favors us. It's no doubt the most crucial part of the season. Pitching is going to have to stay as lights out as it's been the last 25 games.

I do not know how to feel about Kirby. Yes, his debut is the best in mariners history for a debut, but his stuff has been mediocre for the most part since. Gonna trust that he's gonna be debut kirby more often than not (in terms of stuff, not that result cause he was filthy)

If they’re serious about winning they need to be active at the trade deadline. Possibly another starting pitcher and a bat. I believe they’re the only team in the league with no injuries to their starting pitchers. That could change quick.

Hard to believe Jack Kelenic was a higher rated prospect than J Rod just last year.

Also, hard to believe that Julio made more money for being 2nd place in the HR derby than he will for his yearly salary this year.

Jack Kelenic is probably better than Jarred Kelenic anyway ;)

Soto is 23 and I believe is still under team control for 2.5 more years. He and Julio would rule the league for over a decade. You do whatever it takes to get him (except Julio) if you have a chance. The above trade package is steep but I don't think it hurts so much that they couldn't recover.

Dipoto stockpiled the farm system in a couple years he could do it again turning low rated prospects like Ty Franc into all stars. Matt Brash was a player to be named later and they are turning him into a good bullpen guy

I wanted to go to the game tonight on a whim. It’s sold out but still easy to get a ticket on seat geek.

it’s crazy in the win streak we only gained like 3 games on the *stros

Should be a big crowd up in Seattle tonight vs the Astros.

I'd probably do it too, I just have terrible flashbacks to Cano. How did that work out for the M's? Idfk, I guess they've recovered, but it's taken a while. Meanwhile, haven't made the playoffs in HOW LONG???

Cano was 31 when he was traded to Seattle. That's not comparable, IMO.

Meh, I guess that's fair. I just meant paying out the nose for the hottest player on the market at the time, wasn't talking the actual player. I have a lot of issues with Mariners management over the years, so I'm a bit pessimistic in general that they are going to make the right move. Every season is apples to apples for the past couple decades in that they didn't make the playoffs.

Enough doom and gloom! Just keep winning!

    Sold out.

The game can't get here fast enough!

And we got Lewis back. And Upton is out! Good start to the day so far.

The mystery of Julio has me a little panicked as a life long mariners fan.

he was literally just catching the opening pitch from Mike Cameron or Brett Boone. All of a sudden he’s a scratch and no word or sighting of him

my first guess is covid but I figure he would have got his results sooner than game time. Idk weird stuff
