So I finally start paying attention to the mariners and they lose three straight!
I’m done.

Not a good series. The team needs serious help. Ray was a horrible signing. waste of money.

Is there some sort of a winter league the mariners could play and win a championship in?

As a Blazer fan, I'm really enjoying our summer league championship.

Eh he was cy young caliber for 6 weeks of starts.

We are facing the 2nd or 3rd best team in the league. This was the only outcome that sucked. I was hoping to at least win one.

I just wanted to go .500 through this stretch and now thats probably impossible. I'll take series wins though?

Our schedule heavily favors us after this stretch, but god damn can we not fuck it up before we get there?

Honest question from a Baseball hater…

Is this the best they have ever been?

Aren’t they the running joke of MLB?

Technically no not the best ever in terms of wins or projected wins. 116 in 2001.

They are laughed upon in the MLB for having the drought. Julio is changing that though. And through the first 99 games of the season we have the 2nd best defense in HISTORY.

But Seattle fans are always the "when is the other foot coming down" type. Me included.

We just swept Texas. Got swept by Houston. Then swept Texas again. Lol. But really, this is the most hope Seattle has had since 2001 and I don't think there's a debate about that.

Oh boy! Should i start watching again? They literally lost every game i paid attention to last week?

They need another solid starting pitcher

Well, the playoffs expand to 12 teams, 6 from each league. Currently the Mariners are in 5th. If they blow it this year and end up not even in the single elimination game, how sad!
Been 20 plus years since they've been in the playoffs. No way Portland would support a team thats gone 20 plus years w/o being a playoff team.

I’m glad to hear they are having success.

MLB seems to be so back and forth as far as winning vs other teams. To me it feels like sometimes it must come down to which team played 5 games the day before and which didn’t.

It's not single elimination. It's a best of 3.

yeah they set the major league record for regular season wins and then I believe lost to the white Sox in the first round

That was a stacked Mariners team! But also a stacked Sox team with Frank “the big hurt” Thomas leading the way.

They dismantled that Mariners team shortly after and i began to lose track of them ever since.

The baseball season is so unique in that you're not expected to sweep series. 2 out of 3 is the outcome you expect if you're the better team.

I knew we weren't going to be sweeping the Astros, but my expectation 1 out of 3. That would have been a win to me. That's why I was so disappointed. The next 11 games are the most important though without a doubt. @HOU, @NYY, vs LAA, Vs NYY.

It becomes easy after that, but that could tip the entire season.

You are correct...thanks

And here's the weird thing. If im reading this right, the 2nd wild card team will have ALL home games against the 3rd wild card.

So I think it's actually best to be the 2nd wildcard. So that may be interesting when you get to the end. Cause the 1st wild card team will have all road games against the 3rd best division leader.

I thought that was because it was difficult to play 3 games one day and then 4 games the next day.

Every team is just so deep that they have 15 pitchers. Which comes in handy for those back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-backs.

Im surprised that it’s legal federally to play that much baseball in 24hrs
