  • This will be the first game Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum will play against each other since CJ was traded to New Orleans last season

Man playing against Zion is going to be a real test. This is a game where I really hope Grant isn’t the point of attack defender. I can’t imagine Dame not wanting to match up with CJ on both ends all game.

Nurk and Grant will have to bring it on defense. Valanciunas and a healthy Zion can be a handful.
The team will have to stay sharp and grind hard. This team doesn't really do one on one matchups anymore. So the team will have to limit Zion and shut down JV while slowing down Ingram and CJ. This could be a pretty potent offense that we're facing but if our guys give effort and stay active, they can defend just about any team better than that team can defend us.

Grant is actually the best we could ask for against Zion. He's faster and will defend him well. On the flip side Zion cannot guard Grant.

The way Nurk is playing and with two nights rest he should be just fine against Jonas.
Obviously CJ can't guard Dame.
Zion can't keep up with Grant.
Ingram has the experience but if Chauncey looks at size Sharp might be best fit there?
I don't think Simons or Hart have much of a problem with Jones?
Defense by committee and the offense will come. Stay with what is working and take care of the ball.
Blazers can get this game.

Offensively the Pels are a challenge for any team. Zion and BI will get their 20+.

Hoping the zone looks can limit some of what Zion brings to the table. He will definitely get his though.

i dunno how much they'll both play, but i'm also looking forward to Shaedon v Dyson Daniels.

every report has Cronin as seriously considering Dyson at #7. but i also recall Trajan Langdon (Pels' GM) throwing some shade at Sharpe after the draft about not playing, etc.,

Am I the only one that really thinks of this as Ant vs CJ. Dame vs CJ has never been a thing for me...
dame has been in the league 11 yrs, and he's playing against one of the guys he is closest with in the league, who was his teammate for 9+ yrs, who now also plays his position at PG.

this is all about Dame v CJ.

Nah, to me it is all about CJ and the guy that that made Portland believe they could trade him. CJ knows he was never going to be the #1 option next to Dame, but CJ knows why Portland was willing to trade him and Ant knows that he needs to prove that he is worthy.

Time to get greedy! Already 3-1 on the road trip so anything from here on out is gravy. Getting another road win against an in-conference foe that's slate for the playoffs sure would be sweet.

If I just heard your right, you said losing to both the Pels & Mavs is ok? A win is not necessary but would be gravy?

These are western conference foes and we need to put 'em where the sun don't shine. (and I don't mean HCP's basement).

5-1 road trip!
