He actually put his paraphrase in quotation marks even.
"When he wanted to, he could have been an all-time great. Instead, his attitude made him worthless."

I absolutely never said he (Rasheed) was worthless and i absolutely never said he was ever close to being an all time great even when he was on the court.

I did say "I disagree..." meaning what i did say was an opinion. So he has a right to his as well. We obviously disagree on Rasheed Wallace.

You did call Sheed a "waste of space". Just my opinion, but "waste of space" and "worthless" feel pretty equivalent to me.

And I'll just say--quoting the actual original content and then putting the paraphrase in quotation marks is pretty standard process for demonstrating one's understanding and interpretation of another's words.

Sorry. That was not a paraphrase. That was a completely different statement.
Waste of space was my statement but at no time did I ever say worthless. Matter of fact they should have gotten more for him in trade if that trade would have happened sooner.

We shall have to agree to disagree on the bulk of this. I think both are to blame.

But you know what really needs to happen?
We need to stop rewarding initiators and blaming retaliators. Not you. Not me. everyone!

im so sick and tired of hearing how someones actions are dismissed but no one can retaliate or else. Why the hell do we, as a society allow such double standards?

that shit drives me nuts. If we aren't willing to blame someone for creating an issue, we should not blame those who have reactions to it. If we don't hold those accountable for their innitial behavior, then we shouldn't focus on the retaliatory behavior.
Lets start making people own up to their actions from step one, shall we?

considering this behavior is well accepted in this forum, i don't expect much in positive responses to this post. Lol.
If person X calls person Z an asshole and the person Z shoots person x dead, should we really blame person X for his death?

Interesting that you point out the only #3 vs #6 upset since 2015. I don't think anyone would say upsets are impossible, but history would say these types of upsets are far from the norm.

97% of NBA championships are #3 seeds or higher.
Also- that Pelicans team had a better record overall and on the road than this year’s Warriors.

Waste of space and worthless are very equivalent statements.

Come on King…. Apples to oranges. Freedom of speech comes to mind? No physical contact with calling names?

were talking about initial, illegal physical contact. Not sticks and stones….

So a boy scout would get thrown out of 29 games in a season? That is well over 25% of the season.
Rasheed…

…was right about Tim Donaghy and got 7 game suspension for calling him out

….was a fantastic defender

…..knew a 3 was worth more than a 2 before the league caught up

…led us to two WCFs

….was the #1 reason the Pistons won the 2004 NBA championship according to both Larry Brown and Chauncey Billups.

….was the best player in the 2000 WCF Game 7 while fan favorites Arvydas Sabonis and Brian Grant played like trash.

I would like to kindly disagree with both of you. A waste of space means negative value because you are saying that the person or thing isn't worth the space it takes up. Worthless implies neutral value because you aren't saying that it has worth and you aren't saying that it has negative worth... it's just without worth. So yeah, waste of space is definitely a harsher criticism.

parking a Harley in a 2-car garage is a waste of space, but the Harley isn't worthless

on the other hand, this post is probably a waste of space and worthless

Wizenheimer: wasting space at S2 since 2008!

perfect analogy!!!

and for the record, hardly worthless with all the stats and info you provide!!!!

Something could be priceless and still be wasting space. Not the same at all.

No. He got a 7 game suspension for confronting a ref after a game on Rose garden loading dock about a call that the Donaghy was correct on. He did throw the ball at Scott Wall. I was there I watched it.

….was a fantastic defender

No he wasn't. He was decent at times.

…..knew a 3 was worth more than a 2 before the league caught up

Everyone knew this. It was not the league that caught up. It was the training players were given earlier in their careers. Wallace ended his career a 33% 3 point shooter which is probably good for a player from that era.

…led us to two WCFs

And had a meltdown leading to a loss.

….was the #1 reason the Pistons won the 2004 NBA championship according to both Larry Brown and Chauncey Billups.

What they actually said was that he was a pivotal piece that they needed. Remember Chauncey won MVP. Wallace had one good game. Game 4. all 4 other games he was very pedestrian.

….was the best player in the 2000 WCF Game 7 while fan favorites Arvydas Sabonis and Brian Grant played like trash.

Can't disagree with this up until the 4th quarter that is. Then he pretty much quit.

Fair enough. At least you didn't make something up that i said.

I don’t care who he is?
He flat out rewrote my post and he knows it. I absolutely never said the things he tried to imply I said. I’ve seen how you respond to that sort of thing. It ain’t pretty.
@Fairly-Hard i don’t think this old guy knows who you are, you want me to handle this?

I wonder if Embiid would have been thrown out if Claxton had faked being hurt. I'm glad he didn't flop ......but it probably would have worked

...that kick was definitely much weaker force than if say Embiid had stomped and then jumped off his chest :dunno:

Harden and Embiid should be suspended for Game 4. Gotta clean up the dirty play or it’ll get worse.

Would you trade Simons for Maxey?
lol

trail blazers would, 96ers would never

anyway, if dames gets traded, hes gonna get traded to philly in which case were getting maxey and thats exactly what im hoping for
