This pick has a large range. It could be a late first, mid first or maybe even a lottery pick. Those Warriors players are becoming old and have been really bad on the road. If they suck at home too, they might miss the Playoffs.

I think the Kings are going to take things personal.
SAC season sweep right there.

Lakers are old and lazy in regular season. Split 2-2

Phoenix wants to beat everyone now. Suns 3-1

Clippers old timers vs. Dubs retirement center, 2-2

Nuggets will destroy GSW 3-0

If the Blazers can beat the Warriors once or twice, that Golden State pick might be pretty fancy.

I have to remember how deep this conference is. I am LOVING the team construction right now. But, when I look at last year’s standing though, I feel like we can get to 11-12th at best, 13th at worst?

So I think we are almost guaranteed at least a top 10 pick if not top 5. I wonder how far up we could trade if the Warriors pick was between 15 and 20.

I have high hopes Schmitz has someone he has his eye on and a second 1st next year almost guarantees we can have anyone we want in the next draft.

does the pick have lottery protections? The Warriors are known to intermittently tank on occasion.

Warriors schedule between now and Nov 15 (all most likely without Draymond):

PHX
@SAC
@HOU
@NO
SAC
@OKC
@CLE
@DET
@DEN
CLE
MIN
MIN

How many of these games are they losing?

3-9 rough stretch for Golden State

How many big parts of the season has this group missed the last few years?

Klay missed two full years plus some of a 3rd
Curry missed most of one year plus some other long stretches I think
Wiggins was out most of last year
Draymond has probably missed the least time, but he's also been irrelevant for long stretches of the regular season especially if he needs to shoulder a higher offensive load
CP3 is what 38, looked toasted lately, injured a ton, and questionable style of game to fit GS.

Obviously they're one of the great dynasties, but that's the past not the future. They've ended up in the lottery twice recently. For next season they could VERY easily have a bad brake or two and end up in the lottery again.

Very exciting to have a teams pick so we can root for their losses. Also gives us those 4 games we can 100% root for Blazer wins no matter what.

I highly doubt the Warriors end up between 1 and 4, to many bad teams and they are going for the Playoffs. Best case scenario for this pick is probably between 10 and 12. Something like that
oh they'll be some tankers this season. I heard some more Siakam rumors yesterday. The Raptors might be engaging in artillery battle for the draft. Charlotte, Wizards, Spurs, Pistons, still years away from escaping the top 5 lottery. Houston got some pro players, but it's hard to jump out of the cellar. Then of course we might see another Blazers trade deadline "flexibility adjustment". We never know what Cronin & Schmitz have planned. They could begin be salivating over the chance of a top 5 rookie.

I don’t even think the worst case scenario is that bad either. With how deep the west is and how injured they can get, the Warriors might have to win 1 or even 2 play-in games to make the playoffs. That might be a 15-16th pick at worse.

I think Portland surprises next season and finishes a bit better than expected. Like they did when Dame was a rookie.

we lost 13 games in a row to finish that season. I'm fine with losing only if we don't affect Scoot's ROY chances.

we did. we still surprised. I’m saying 39-43 as constructed, 10/11 seed.

I think scoot is more advanced than people realize.

To be fair, being 11th in the conference as opposed to the 13th would be a better finish than expected lol.

The year after we got Dame, we were 10th, around the same position as the year prior.

the refs suck in Golden State. I saw Luka horse collared and yanked down by Looney, just so the Warriors can win a stupid game. FAKE good team. Whatever makes the NBA the big bucks I suppose?

ya... a bit generous for me. I say 28 wins.

I also know we'll be closely monitored by the league late in the year, but our FO is MVP at tanking.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Portland squeeze into the playoffs. I genuinely believe that our teenage PG may come in and play like he’s been in the league for 3-4 years.

some years I’m overly optimistic, others pessimistic. I knew we’d suck last year, even though we started off looking like a contender. I’m higher on our young core to produce more quickly than I probably should be. I was a big Scoot fan watching him in the g League the last two years. He was pretty advanced considering the players around him were all 3-6 years older. Doesn’t mean it translates next year, but it will eventually.

I expect Scoot to play like a vet. The reason being he doesn't have tunnel vision and can make plays others aren't capable of.

My goal is now 35. Still need to see huge improvements in Shae and ideally Ayton. Of course, Scoot has to fulfil expectations.

Still waiting to see what Brogan brings in, but I think the roster will surprise. Not many players left who relied on Dame for their paycheck, so there won't be as much whiplash as there could be. The league might reward us for sending Dame to the Eastern Conference by reffing us more fairly this year. I'll say 38 wins and barely missing the playoffs.

yeah, somewhere around 35 wins would be solid, if Scoot is as good/better than expected could be more, gonna be interesting how much improved the defense is and how Chauncy coaches a group like this

To me, the biggest question is Chauncey Billups. He's done well with a more young, uptempo unit so I'm hoping it goes well.

If he fucks around with Shaedon Sharpe I want him gone, like the Blazer coach who fell off his chair whom Drexler didn't like.

Wait for it....
