SWAT Team Destroyed Innocent Family's Home, Refused to Pay for Repairs

Amy Hadley watched in horror as her home was raided by police and destroyed in South Bend, Indiana, in June 2022. Over a year later, her family is still traumatized and their home still bears the scars of the raid. And all of this happened because police were searching for a man who was never in their home and who had no connection to Amy’s family.

https://ij.org/case/south-bend-swat-d...

Noah Hadley, just 15 at the time, was the only one there when police surrounded his home and started calling for occupants to come out. He followed their instructions and told them he was the only one in the house. Officers cuffed Noah and took him away without letting him call his mom.

Amy arrived on the scene shortly after the officers took her son away. None of the officers believed Amy when she tried to explain that the officers had the wrong house. She watched from down the street as a SWAT team and other officers shattered windows with tear gas grenades, flooded the house with toxic fumes, upended furniture, tore down fixtures, punched holes in the walls, destroyed family photos and drawings, and rifled through the family’s belongings.

When the dust settled, the house was uninhabitable for days. Tear gas saturated everything, glass filled the beds, windows and walls were shattered and mangled. Amy and her family slept in her car. Amy tried to get answers and compensation from the government agencies. But they denied her requests. Her insurance company covered only part of the damage. She was left with thousands of dollars’ worth of damage to shoulder herself.

That’s both unfair and unconstitutional. When the government deliberately destroys an innocent owner’s property to serve a public interest—here, public safety—both the Indiana Constitution and the U.S. Constitution require the government to compensate the owner. The local governments in this case determined that the public benefit of trying to apprehend a fugitive outweighed the costs of damaging Amy’s property in the process. That was their decision to make, but they must pay for it.

Door Dasher CAUGHT in Fishing Expedition

Cops in Wisconsin successfully nabbed some teenagers engaged in Door-Dashing. Originally a speeding stop, the officer quickly pivoted to a drug investigation, and basically went on a fishing expedition in an effort to find any reason at all to arrest them.

Arrested For Knocking on Cop’s Window | OUTRAGEOUS Bodycam
Posted on January 2, 2024
I literally received hundreds of requests for my take on this outrageous bodycam footage that was originally uploaded by Lackluster, showing a lady being arrested in Kentucky, after she attempted to criticize a police officer for his poor driving skills. Well, you were right that I would be interested in this incident. Here’s my take on it.

This was brutal to watch. Nothing gory or anything. Just really tough to see.

Cops Paralyze Handcuffed Man and Mock Him | He Later Dies!

This poor guy was arrested on suspicion of public intoxication and then had his head slammed into concrete while handcuffed. One of his family members sent me the raw bodycam footage that was just recently released. His mother has now filed a wrongful death lawsuit. In the video, you can see that the man, Anthony Silva, tries to tell the officers that he’s paralyzed. But they tell him he’s fine, and mock him. Apparently he spent nearly a year in the hospital, ultimately dying as a result of this.

Bad Cops Cost Taxpayers $1.9 million! Here’s Why…
Posted on February 8, 2024
You may remember the video that went viral showing police officers in Aurora, Colorado, holding a black family hostage in a parking lot outside the car. Supposedly the cops thought their car was stolen, based on their (the cops) mistake. The family filed a civil rights lawsuit and just settled for a whopping $1.9 Million Dollars. But, this will continue to happen. Here’s why…

Who LIED? Cop FIGHT Caught on Bodycam!

Tensions between law enforcement in Cleveland County are “strained” right now, according to a town’s police chief. A police officer in Lexington, Oklahoma pulled over the Cleveland County Sheriff for speeding. The sheriff then told the officer he was on his way to a SWAT call. He was allowed to proceed to the call. Then the Lexington police chief showed up at the scene and a confrontation ensued, which ended with both sides accusing each other of assault. Who’s telling the truth? Here’s the bodycam footage.

Cop ATTACKS 76-Year-Old Man Who Tells Him to LEAVE!
Posted on March 28, 2024

This footage comes from Oilton, Oklahoma, where they’ve apparently been through 9 different police chiefs in the past few years, which may not surprise you once you watch this bodycam footage. The video was released by the Oilton Police Department after the local TV news ran a story about an officer confronting and attacking a 76 year old veteran on his own property. But does the video help, or hurt, the Oilton PD? Also, just four months ago, the Oilton PD apparently didn’t even exist.

Cop Training Seminar EXPOSED on VIDEO | 1000’s of Cops Nationwide Involved!
Posted on April 1, 2024

The New Jersey Office of the State Comptroller recently published a scandalous report detailing private for-profit police training of 1000’s of police officers from around the country that, among other things: promoted the use of unconstitutional policing tactics for motor vehicle stops; glorified violence and an excessively militaristic or “warrior” approach to policing; spoke disparagingly of the internal affairs process; promoted an “us vs. them” approach; and espoused views and tactics that would undermine almost a decade of police reform efforts in New Jersey, including those aimed at de-escalating civilian-police encounters; and
which included over 100 discriminatory and harassing remarks by speakers and instructors, with repeated references to speakers’ genitalia, lewd gestures, and demeaning quips about women and minorities.

Specifically, the report details a 2021 seminar held in Atlantic City, NJ, attended by approximately 1,000 police officers from across the country. Along with the report, the Acting Comptroller released video footage…

This is how police officers in Summerville, South Carolina treated a 13 year-old kid who was selling “roses” made from palmetto frawns. A bystander filmed the incident on her phone and then posted it on social media. It then went viral and people were angry about it. Then the Summerville PD posted the raw footage online, hoping that seeing the body cam footage would appease the angry public. In a statement, they defended the officers’ actions.

A police officer in South Whitley, Indiana pulled over an 18 year old high school girl for allegedly speeding, as well as for one of her headlights being out. Within minutes, he violently pulled her out of her car and slammed her onto the asphalt. He handcuffed her and put her in the rear of his police car. This was her first time ever being pulled over. The charge? She didn’t provide her ID quickly enough. Her father showed up to the scene, and is now fighting for justice.

Cops Ask Woman to Kick-in her Ex-Boyfriend’s Front Door! ALL HELL Breaks Loose

Posted on May 1, 2024

In Elyria, Ohio, cops encouraged a woman to kick in her ex-boyfriend’s front door, so that she could get her belongings inside. They did not have a warrant. But they followed her inside the man’s house anyways, and proceeded to walk upstairs and surprise him as he got out of the shower. Then they tased him multiple times, arrested him, and charged him with multiple felonies. But then he got a lawyer, and the lawyer reviewed the body cam footage.

By the way, this is the same police department that went viral for the huge SWAT raid where they used the flash bangs against the innocent mom and baby inside. Media report from that here.

BODYCAM: Shows 23YO Airman Killed Over Nothing | BAD SHOOT

BODYCAM: Shows 23YO Airman Killed Over Nothing | BAD SHOOT

Full RAW footage:

Senior Airman Roger Fortson was home alone in his off-base apartment causing no trouble and FaceTiming with a woman when a Okaloosa County Sheriff’s deputy, responding to the wrong address for a disturbance, broke through his door and fatally shot him Friday, an attorney for the airman’s family said Wednesday.

Ben Crump, a civil rights attorney hired by Fortson’s family, detailed the account in a news release, which was also posted on Twitter Wednesday, asking for transparency and the immediate release of body camera footage of the incident.

Fortson, 23, was shot six times, said Crump, who attributed his account of the shooting to the woman, a witness who the airman had been FaceTiming with during the incident.

According to that woman, Crump said, Fortson heard a knock on his door, and when he asked who it was didn’t get a response. A few minutes later, there was a “very aggressive knock,” but Fortson didn’t see anyone when he looked out the peephole.

“Concerned, he did what any other law-abiding citizen would do and retrieved his legally-owned gun,” Crump said.

As Fortson walked back to his living room, “police burst through the door” and shot him six times, Crump said, adding that the witness said they saw Fortson on the ground saying, “I can’t breathe.”

The Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said a deputy encountered Fortson with a gun while responding to a disturbance around 4:30 p.m. local time Friday at an apartment located at 319 Racetrack Road NW in Fort Walton Beach, just several miles from Hurlburt Field, where Fortson served as a gunner on the AC-130J Ghostrider in the 4th Special Operations Squadron.

Fortson died at a local hospital, officials said.

Few other details have been released about the shooting, including the type of disturbance the sheriff’s office was responding to. The office late Tuesday declined to release body camera footage, an incident report and other recordings related to the shooting to Air Force Times, citing an ongoing investigation.

According to an unverified audio recording of a dispatch call posted on Facebook, police received a disturbance call related to a male and female and that it was called in by an apartment complex’s leasing office. The recording refers to a Black male who had been shot “multiple” times in the chest.

Fortson’s apartment complex declined to comment to Air Force Times.

The deputy who shot Fortson, who has not been identified, has been placed on paid administrative leave and Okaloosa Sheriff Eric Aden said Wednesday afternoon that he has asked the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to handle the investigation into the matter.

While he asked for the “community’s patience,” Crump demanded “immediate answers.”

“The circumstances surrounding Roger’s death raise serious questions that demand immediate answers from authorities, especially considering the alarming witness statement that the police entered the wrong apartment. The narrative released by law enforcement, which falsely suggests that Roger posed a threat, is deeply troubling and inconsistent with the details provided by that witness: Roger was home alone, causing no disturbance, when his life was tragically cut short by law enforcement,” Crump said in a statement.

Crump could not be immediately reached for comment. He is a well-known civil rights attorney who has represented families in high-profile cases involving Black people killed by law enforcement, including George Floyd, Michael Brown and Breonna Taylor.

Hurlburt Field has said in social media posts that the base is supporting Fortson’s family and offering assistance to grieving airmen.

The Okaloosa Sheriff’s Office faced scrutiny last year after a deputy mistook a falling acorn striking his patrol vehicle for a gun shot and fired at his SUV while a suspect sat inside restrained. According to an internal investigation, Deputy Jesse Hernandez believed the shot came from inside his vehicle. The suspect, who is Black, was uninjured in the shooting. The sheriff’s office determined Hernandez’ use of force was not reasonable and he resigned in November.

Cop Kills BLIND 10 Pound Shih Tzu | City Defends the Shooting!

Heard an off duty cop proudly explaining to a guy the other day that police never pull anybody over for "no reason".

During a discussion about politics and policy the guy (black guy) was asking the off duty officer (mixed) about how police are trained for specific situations and was using police pulling people over seemingly for no legitimate reason when he was interrupted...

Police officer proudly "There are a thousand reasons I can find to pull you over with cause... Your tire touches the white line, visible exhaust first thing in the morning..." And he went on...

After about 2 or 3 minutes of this explanation the guy just said "nevermind" and changed the subject. Clearly the conversation was going nowhere. And this off duty officer is otherwise a very level headed, understated and respectful guy. If anybody was going to be a "good cop" it would be this guy.

It was kind of eye opening actually. If they can violate your day but still follow the letter of the law they are happy to do it. In fact, proud to do it. You could see how proud he was about it.

It was completely lost on him that you would still be pulling somebody over for no reason if you had to find some other excuse like visible exhaust first thing in the morning.

And if shit goes bad because of that interaction and somebody gets hurt they will have each other's backs because they "had a reason" to harass that person.

Cops KILL Man for Driving ATV in Neighbor’s Yard!
Posted on May 28, 2024
A federal lawsuit was filed after a man was shot and killed by a Princeton (West Virginia) Police Officer inside his own house, following allegations from his neighbor that he had been riding his ATV through the neighbor’s yard. The officers were captured on bodycam footage engaging in an investigation within the curtilage of the man’s yard, and ultimately kicking in the door and shooting him. The officer who shot and killed the man claimed that the man had a baseball bat and refused to drop it. Conveniently however, he wasn’t wearing a bodycam, despite a department policy mandating that he do so. Some of the shooting was captured on another officer’s bodycam. It was recently released by the family’s lawyers.
