Was talking with Mrs SPD and somehow we ended up here...

Suppose you were talking with someone who had never visited the USA and wanted your recommendation of 4 cities.

Which cities would you pick for them to visit to give them the best overview of our country?

(I'll share my picks later in the thread.)

Tough question. I can't really say a city unless I've been there because otherwise I'm just guessing. But out of cities I have been - Seattle, Boston, Vegas and Kansas City.

New Orleans

Need to think about the other 3.

Washington DC
Reno/Lake Tahoe
Santa Barbara/Solvang CA

New Orleans
Washington DC
New York City

7 covers a lot...could easily go 8 and add Savanah Georgia or Philly or maybe Boston

I picked Kansas City not because I liked it, just wanted that person to see how much the middle of the USA sucks.

New York City
San Francisco
New Orleans (haven’t been though)
Denver/las vegas

New York City
New Orleans
Las Vegas
Los Angeles

I think those would give you a great representation of America!

That's the challenge. You have to pick 4.

The weird people moved in, and completely ruined it.

Best as in most accurate? Or best as in most positive?

Buffalo NY
Cleveland OH
New Orleans
Quartzite AZ

The first two because they are so incredibly friendly, and there is so very much to see and do, in and around each area. Plus Buffalo has beef on weck (look it up).

New Orleans because there is nothing like it anywhere else in the U.S. A grubbier and more lurid version of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Quartzite because I recently spent one of the most absolutely enjoyable afternoons of my entire life there at Beer Belly's Adult Day Care. I cannot recommend it enough......retirement as it is supposed to be.

And NOLA……maybe a few different pockets, but the rest smells like hot urine and throw up with used condoms everywhere.

Honest question, do you travel? The whole country is a dump now. Was just in Dallas and its a mess!
