Yep. I was yelling too. He should have processed that the dude was 4 feet from the plate and even a good throw is close... take whatever sure out is presented to you.

    Its a colossal mistake.

OMG. Just watched it. That was brutal. I feel bad for the guy as well.
But looking the replays on ESPN.com, from above, it doesnt look like the runner touched home plate.

The base runner didn’t touch the plate initially, but he went back and stepped on it.

Looks like the Cubs are going to survive another game.

Just got to get the bats going today. Try to get into their pen by the 4th inning.

Skubal is going at least 6.

I really did not want to have to face him again. We've beat him 3 times... beating a reigning cy young winner 4 times in a row? Geez man, thats asking a LOT.

I know. That is why Dan Wilson's approach last game was frustrating. He should have put Kirby IN as a reliever then rather than face Skubal today. He is weird about these "rules" of managing games. Tonight we will see Garver get struck out 3x because he refuses to play anyone else at DH.

Raley is awful. Not sure why the guy gets any at bats. When he pinch hit Raley for Canzone after Canzone went 1-1 I couldn’t believe it.

Managing baseball is all about pushing the right buttons at the right times. He needs to not try and re-invent the wheel here.

The report I just read said if the Mariners can get by tonight they might have him available for some bull pen work in the ALCS.
Of course that is an eternity away at this point.

He wanted to go in the ALDS but played it safe, so ALCS is a near certainty if we win.
