However, it seems as if they grabbed Kenny Anderson in the process. With the Hawks "productive" offseason by acquiring Walker, Harrington and now Barry and Anderson, they've done a okay job, but still not enough to contend in the Eastern Conference lower seeds. If and only they acquired Dampier they would probably a chance, but this franchise is not going to be much different from what we've seen in past years.
This was a good move by the Hawks, they add some veteran leadership to go along with there new young nucleus. But I am still not sure if the Hawks can turn it around. They might be able to if they get some fans, to come see the games every onec in a while. They ccould be good in the future if there draft picks from this year work out. I don't know if Antoine Walker will flourish in Atlanta but he mine as well try. I look for this team to improve signifficantly from the past year, but I'm not planning on seeing them in the playoffs.
i'm very excited about the kenny anderson signhin and jon barry excites me also. I thinkt he hawks are looking pretty good. The only aquisition it hink the hawks need to look to aquiring is a decent center. And i'm hoping the brendon haywood of the Wizards gives our team a look next offseaseon seeing that he will be a free agent.
I am a wizards fan and I hope Haywood one of my TarHee boys stays in Washington, but if he does go to Atlanta he could be very effective for them, and would probably start, considering how thin they are in the front court.
Good to see the team stocking up on veterans, but who will start of the three? Tony Delk, Jon Barry or Kenny Anderson? Will they have room to get in minutes for Boris Diaw, Josh Childress, Donta Smith, and Royal Ivey?

Tony Delk is only considered PG by position when listed there.. He is a two, hell make a few jumpers, have a big scoring game here & there. But Tony Delk will never make consistent piont guard plays or run a offense, properly. Kenny Anderson on the other hand has always known how to run a offense its in KA's blood. From my stand point, there starting 5 should be... PG- Anderson SG- Childress SF- Harrington PF- Walker C- What bum they have on the roster, I guess Drobnjak will do.
i've really liked what the hawks have done this offseason, look from them to contend for a playoff spot.
They may be making some improvements, but they're still not good enough. And just an opinion here, I think the trade for Harrington was more of a downgrade from Stephen Jackson. The guy is likely to be thrown into a starting role, somethign which he has never experienced, that and he's far too streaky in my opinion. But, we'll see how it all works out.
I see the lineup looking something like this: pg- anderson sg- childress/delk/barry all splitting some times, barry comming in for 3's and such sf- harrington pf- walker c- collier(i guess thats his name, not sure though) c is their only weak point.next year they can probably be a force to mess with but this year they just don't have the center there.
Adding veterans will help the Hawks, but these 2 wont be enough to get them to the playoffs. They've got a good mix of younger players and veterans, but they need more talent on their team to make the playoffs. The older players will help the younger guys develop, and do the right things on court. The Hawks are making the right moves however, and will at least be a respectable team this season.
