I'll bet on a team with Dame and Jason Kidd as the HC over a team with Phil Jackson and CJ as their best player.
At this point, I think both Dame and Olshey know that Olshey is working for Dame if he wants to keep his job.
Here's the issue: Having a happy Dame on the roster is more important to winning than having a good coach. So if Dame wants Kidd, you give him Kidd.
How to come to that conclusion? You don't think it's possible he wants Kidd and he wants him bad enough that he's going to strongarm the move into...
