It's funny how Kings fans are coming on this board and dissing the current Laker lineup.....

    Odom OVERrated?

what Odom have you been hearing about?

If anything, the guy is underrated.....
he had a great season with Miami last season and could give a double double and sometimes a triple double on any given night...he wasn't even labeled a "good" player till last year and if he stays healthy, he can only get better

    Last I checked,
Kings have won 0 championships since this whole "LA-Sactown" thing started.....
I don't think they have any "gloating-rights" as of yet [IMG]

Its cool that you Sacramento fans are all happy because Shaq is gone and you expect to run all over the Lakers
(which wont even happen because the Lakers will most likely exceed peoples expectations) but we, as Laker fans, advise you to watch your own team first.....
The same team that always has the same problems: Great regular season (with Webbeer mostly injured) but always a short end to the playoffs

Bibby becomes clutch but the the rest of the team chokes,
Doug plays great defence but seems like he's the only one,
Webber wrecks the chemistry and is scared to demand the ball in the late seconds and when when he has the ball, he cant make the shots (as we all witnessed against the T-Wolves....)
Peja can't play defence and CHOKES in the playoffs

I think its great you guys are so confident....and I do agree with you that the Kings will have a better record then the Lakers in the regular season....but dont get too dissappointed when Kings get bumped out of the playoffs early again...
Fact is, the Lakers are rebuilding so everyone EXPECTS a early first round exit....as for your team, they're favourites this year as well and we all know they most likely will dissappoint their fans yet again...

You guys have such high expectations for yourselves, and since the Lakers suck so much, I think you Kings fans would be the only ones eating your own words when they not only make the playoffs but make it farther then your Kings...that would just be sweet. But yes, thats just my hopes talking. Nothing is certain yet. It is August, not May. So me saying Lakers will go to the 2nd round and Kings wont is bogus but I'm hopin that it happens so you guys will eat your own words.

As for you gys makin fun of our lineups, you should worry about your own team and the fact that Webber, a player who got booed on his own turf [IMG] is calling out everyone on your team and your apperent "MVP" (who cant play defence nor do good in the playoffs) wants to be traded.

I wish to see LA vs. Sactown in the first round against each other so that way IF the Lakers beat the Kings these cocky fans would finalllyyyy shut up about this whole "you only beat us cause you have Shaq" nonsense and accept that the Lakers are better.

Thats bull, we keep beating you because YOUR TEAM CHOKES in the playoffs...end of story...
But hey, i could be worng as well, The Kings might beat the Lakers next year in the playoffs. But that won't matter.

Case in point: Till the Kings can not only defeat the Lakers, but also WIN a championship, your fans have no right to mock fun at our lineup as of yet.

Sorry, just had to vent on the cocky Kings fans (and no, thats not every Kings fan, the majority tho)

This is what I think it should be:

PG - Lamar Odom | Chucky Atkins | Sasha Vujacic
SG - Kobe Bryant | Kareem Rush | Jumaine Jones
SF - Caron Butler | Devean George | Luke Walton
PF - Brian Grant | Brian Cook | Slava Medvedenko
    C - Vlade Divac | Chris Mihm

I wouldn't be surprised if Lamar Odom worked out well as the teams point guard. I just wish we still had Derek Fisher, he always knocked down three's for us.

What about this lineup, unless another trade happens. I think the Lakers would be better off with Kobe running the point. This would also giveus a bigger lineup.

PG- KOBE / Atkins / Vujacic
SG- BUTLER / Rush / George(most likely to start the season in the IR)
    SF- ODOM / Jones/ Walton
PF- GRANT / Slava / Cook
    C-VLADE / Mihm

I've already posted my prediction for the starting lineup but I'd like to predict the minutes and stats.. for the fun of it.
    Starting Center: Vlade Divac
    8.4PPG, 6.6RPG, 3.8APG - 24MPG

    Backup Center: Chris Mihm
    7.1PPG, 6.1RPG, 1.2BPG - 22MPG

    Starting PF: Brian Grant
    8.2PPG, 8RPG, 0.9BPG - 28MPG

    Backup PF/C: Slava Medvedenko
    8.7PPG, 6RPG, 1.2BPG - 22MPG

Although many question our front court, I think we are deep enough to a consistent and productive one. Defense is obviously the big question, but with so little minutes and so many players to go around, everyone should be well rested and I expect them to play strong on D.

I'm obviously disappointed with the log jam in the SF spot and with only having one PG (who I don't believe is good enough to run an offense) I am looking forward to seeing the rest of the lineup. If we can clear up the jam and bring in another solid PG I will be happy with this offseason. Now it's up to Kupchak to make the moves.

No this wouldn't work, Caron Butler first isn't that good at handling the ball, and might not be too effective at SG, and Kobe is the primary scorer, so it's better for him not to take on the primary ball handling duties.

Odom ran point on the Clippers when Dre' Miller was here because the playrs preffered him doing it, so it's very possible, and I think it would be the best option.
He's the big man with the best handles in the league right now, so it's not like he'll struggle, even with pressure he's able to bring the ball up, and if he get's stuck he can always get it to Kobe.

Good to see another Laker fan like myself that feels the same hatred for our archrivals.

I was once a fan of Webber when he played with the Fab 5 at Michigan. Of course, he being drafted to SacTown caused me to dislike him..... Besides, the man has been a choke artist since his infamous timeout. I dont think he'll ever have the confidence to demand the ball in the closing of any games. He'll probrably call other timeout when there are non left again.......haha
