The Nets had arguably the waekest bench in the NBA. He was competing against players who were either not very good or not ready for the NBA and he failed to make any sort of difference.

You say that was his best effort. If that's the case, doesn't that mean a low grade is justified? That he just isn't a good player even when he gives an honest effort?

You can't grade a guy that was with the team for half the season and he only played half those games.

C+. had some really good jump shots. barely missed them. and some great dunks. i hate how ppl just waste their time looking for stats when you can just watch how they play on tv. frank didnt even give him decent minutes, and when he did, swift did good. dont see all the hate. better than playing 4 on 5 with collins on our team.

What is his role? What unique skills can he bring off the bench to help his team win games?</div>

he's an elite athlete who can finish around the rim. he's a good shot blocker and an above average defender. he can score in the post when given the opportunity, and he's a pretty good passer for a big man. he can hit an open jumper.

i'm not trying to make a claim that he's a great player who should get big time minutes, i'm just saying he's not as bad as some of you make him out to be. he did a pretty good job when given minutes with the nets more often than not. if you can't see that than i really don't feel like discussing this with you.

Not a unique skill on the Nets

[IMG] above average defender, damn that is hilarious and wrong

The Nets have better passing and jump shooting big men. Sure he can score in the post when spoon fed, but otherwise it is some combination of jab step, jab step, turnover.

I give him a B-. I think he played relatively hard. I think it was an achievement for him to beat out Sean Williams for playing time.

I told you. Cpawfan hates Swift a million times more than I do.

I thought he might be able to contribute something and I was left shaking my head.

He expects a player that will be unbelievably horrible and stupid and eventually get frustrated and give up, so Stro wildly exceeded his expectations.

I didnt expect much of him either, i actually thought hed be in the doghouse for most of the season. But when he played he did it decently thats why i gave him a C.
I remember when some people thought hed be our "savior" the big man we never had and always need. What a joke, swfit is clearly a bust and will never be a good player you can rely on to win games and be competive. I cant believe he was the 2nd pick at the draft.

Hey, I'm not grading on a curve. If this were the D-League he'd get a solid B+.

His biggest problem isn't even his fault. I just really liked Jason Collins.

His grade immediately jumps to an A if he somehow becomes a critical piece in a classic Thorn rip-off trade.
