Great, Blazers holding out best players. Indiana, Chicago and Boston have won. Cleveland in overtime against Miami.
Portland needs another shooter especially at the 3 or 4. While not my favorite prospect, I would absolutely be thrilled if they were able to move up and select Markkanen. STOMP
If TOR, UTA and LA win, and CLE loses its last game, some ping pong magic could have us ending up w the 16th, 20th, and the 23rd picks. Solid
If ATL, MIL, CHI, and MIA all win and POR and MEM lose as well, we could conceivably have 15, 18, and 23.
Here's how I imagine what happens when Stotts sees that Blazers are still hanging in there at the end: he makes sure that Layman is in the game and as he pushes him onto the court he says "you're doing great, Jake, you have the green light to take as many shots as you can!"
Jake goes off for 10 pts, 5 rebs and 2 blocks tonight! Jake the snake is the Bosnian beasts new sidekick.??
goes off? is he a "snake oil" salesman? last night he was 2/15 with 4 pts, guy looks like he can shoot but nothin ever seems to go in
OG with the first pick and OJ with the last one. Then again, how many Aminu/Harkless clones do we need...?
I wouldn't call them clones. OGs a better defender than both, and also longer. Has the potential to be better offensively than both. Ojeleye is stronger, more athletic, a better shooter, and a better playmaker than both.
Could be. I'd not been familiar with him prior to the tournament, but he certainly impressed me in the loss to USC:
Of course not--they're all different; Aminu and Harkless aren't clones of one another either (despite the declarations of some). I was just using a lazy comparison because they're all good-defending, athletic, slashing 3/4 hybrid forwards. And I agree that it wouldn't be the worst idea to replace the two we have with the two we could draft.
We just need a ball handling wing that can shoot so we can trade Turner's contract. Justin Jackson would be perfect
From what I saw of Jackson, I wouldn't call him a ball handling wing. He's ok for 1-2 dribbles, but that's it.
