No wonder he has a bad hip. He's carrying a satchel! He should be carrying a backpack for more even weight distribution.

This discussion is at least getting on the right track! My thread of last week that pointed out assigning Meyers to carry out the pick and run down the paint offense that Nurkic has developed can take the Blazers far into the playoffs really degenerated into some negative comments. Instead of negative judgments and malicious thoughts about negative teammate interactions, it is important to recognize the importance of the many screens set, assists, and efforts made.

Let's concentrate on getting the best out of the Blazers by discussing how to allow Meyers to concentrate on scoring high percentage shots (dunks, layups, and hooks) from Center position. At the perimeter, let's emphasize the great assists that he has made, and the great chemistry that Meyers can have with CJ and Dame that has allowed pretty assists that have benefited both ways!

From 3 point range, the more he shoots the better his percentage. Meyers should be making 3 or more 3 point shots per game. This forum is a chance to go for improving Blazer success. Let's keep it positive!

Sorry Meyers, I want you know that not everyone here is on board with bashing you like this. It's gone on for long enough now that it really feels childish. I understand if you decided to never againread these forums, but before you go I'd like to appologize on behalf of the individuals whom never outgrew the playground bully mentality.

Best of luck in your increased role going down the stretch, know that many of us do have faith in you!

Yea! And swish3s are really of growing importance as shown by correlation of winning teams and swish3s scored!

    Let's keep them coming!

How many? The same number that make $10 mil/year.

My guess is that Cliff would play with a broken leg for $2 mil/year.

I understand the impulse to be nice, but you're not being nice - you're dogging on a CBA player who isn't getting shit, because some guy was lucky enough to be drafted (and then extended) by Neil Olshey on a long shot bet that didn't pay off. If you care about merit at all, then you should be rooting for a DLeague player (Cliff or other) who deserves a shot based on their skill and hard work over Butters.

Again, I like him, he's a nice guy. I wouldn't even care about his salary if we weren't in cap hell. But, we are. His contract is guaranteed, and he and his contract need to move along. I wish him well, but I'm rooting for my team to win a championship, and right now he's an obstacle.

    Butters
Good luck, Meyers. With your guaranteed contract, you'll earn 30+ times the amount of $$$ I'll make in my lifetime. I certainly don't begrudge you for your huge salary at all. You have a beautiful wife and a beautiful life. Just don't waste it, enjoy it. Don't lock yourself into some macho crap.

p.s. I'd love it if you retire in Oregon. If you do, let me know. I'd love it if you taught me how to paintball, you'd be a fun dude to hang out with.... and I'll even stop referring to you as Butters online!

Whether or not that is true, that wasn't my point. Regardless, you don't think Alexander could post these numbers?

    I sure as hell do.

Regardless of Numbers, Meyers can post minutes on an NBA team, Cliff Alexander cannot.

You make a thread taking note of the fact that he has appreciation threads. I say "not another thread like this" and you attack me and you take that as a reason to talk down to me in a condescending tone?

*Take note of the fact that he doesn't have any appreciation threads.

The thread is highlighting that nobody appreciates the man. Or at least he never had an "official Meyers Leonard appreciation thread."

But hey, just keep jumping to conclusions young buck.

Yeah, well so would I, but like Cliff, no NBA GM is willing to give it to me. Do I get to blame Meyers for the fact I'm not on an NBA roster, too? It would make just as much sense as it would be to blame Meyers for Cliff not being on an NBA roster. More actually, Cliff had a NBA roster spot and lost it of his own accord. I didn't. So, fuck you Meyers, you're the reason I'm not on an NBA team right now. It has nothing to do with the fact that I'm undersized and lack talent. It's all your fault, not mine, not mine at all.

I didn't dog anybody. OK, I did, but it was the posters in this forum that are constantly shitting all over one of the players on our team. I certainly didn't dog Cliff Alexander. I never mentioned him until you somehow managed to work his name into this conversation.

We did not cut Cliff to re-sign Meyers. Meyers didn't take his roster spot, or his salary. Both payers had roster spots going into last summer. Cliff's contract had a team option at $874,636 for the 2016-17 season. Meyers was a restricted free agent. The Blazers could have easily exercised Cliff's paltry option and then used Bird Rights to sign Meyer for any amount of their choosing up to the maximum salary. Declining Cliff's option had ZERO to do with Meyers Leonard or his contract.

Cliff's option was declined on July 8 to free up cap space to sign Festus Ezeli. So, if you want to blame someone for taking Cliff's roster spot, and his salary, blame Festus. Meyers was signed two days later using his Bird Rights.

Or better yet, blame Cliff. He had a year to convince the Blazers coaches and front office that we was worth his $874,636 team option and failed to do so. And, after being set free by the Blazers, during the biggest spending spree in league history, not one of the other 29 NBA teams deemed Cliff worthy of a minimum contract. ORL briefly picked him up, gave him a look and then cut him. And, if you're not good enough to make that roster...

So, now he's tearing it up in the D League, and while dozens of other D Leaguers have been called up, some even earning long term contracts, not Cliff. He's still stuck in the minors, with no one to blame but himself. He can't blame Neil, Terry, or Paul and he sure as hell can't blame Meyers Leonard.

So, if Cliff deserves a shot, why hasn't any other team given it to him, and what does that have to do with Meyers Leonard? There are 29 other teams in this league, and apparently none of them want Cliff, either. But he's still very young. He can still turn it around, and if he does I'll be happy for him. In spite of your bizarre implication, I have nothing against Cliff Alexander. I wish him well, but to be honest I care more about how the players actually on our roster are performing than players who aren't. If Meyers has a good game. It helps my team. If Cliff has a good game. It doesn't.

    Are you fucking serious???

    What's the difference between:
"Take note of the fact that he doesn't have any appreciation threads."
    And
"The thread is highlighting that nobody appreciates the man. Or at least he never had an "official Meyers Leonard appreciation thread."

I also said this is another Meyers bashing thread. How am I wrong when you just said that this thread is to highlight how nobody appreciates him?

Seems like you're trying to start shit just to start shit.

There are better players than Biebs in the DLeague, period. By giving Biebs a shot, a more deserving player is not getting one. Biebs has made plenty of $$ as an NBA player. Time for him to run along.
