Chief is doing much better in both areas this season. I noticed his decision making and shot selection were both much better before the injury. The turnovers spiked after he came back from the injury, but that was only for a couple of games. His shot selection has remained good (he's shooting .481 from 3 with a TS% of .630).

At this point, he's a MUCH better, more consistent shooter than Mo Harkless or Evan Turner, and has the size to guard small forwards (unlike Pat Connaughton).

He really is our best option at small forward these days. If only Stotts would play him there more instead of primarily as a stretch 4.

I wonder how much trade value he has.

Exactly why Meyers and Zach need to play more.

We have no NBA-quality starting SF. You're doing a good job at searching for wheat among the chaff, trying to make positives out of little at our weakest position.

I was posting the week Olshey got Davis, Aminu, Vonleh, etc. that he had failed to get a scoring SF. (Everyone told me no problem, just wait for Olshey to fix it.) Olshey apparently saw his patch job as something that would endure for years, since he's still sticking with the roster imbalance.

Either Olshey lacks the talent to sign or draft a scoring SF, or the Stotts system is unable to create plays for any SF to shine. (It's both.)

Do you think we can get back a small forward that plays good defense and shoots better than .481 from 3?

I know that's a small sample size, but I actually think Chief may be the answer (ok maybe not THE answer, but AN answer - for now) to our problems at small forward. If only Stotts would play him at small forward and give up on his Aminu as a stretch 4 fantasy. We now have bigger, better options at that position.
