7:00PM et on CBC's Hockey Night in Canada. @ The Maple Leafs will be looking to go 2-0 to start off the season after a 3-2 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night. The game was the first of the season for both Toronto and Montreal, with Jean-Sebastien Giguere's performance highlighting the night in what was the Leafs' first regular season home-opening win in a decade. (2000) Ottawa is coming off of a 2-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Friday night, where goaltending again was at he forefront after solid performances by Miller and, more notably, Pascal Leclaire. Saturday night's meetings between the Maple Leafs and Senators will be the first of 6 this season, as is also the case for Toronto in regards to other Northeast division rivals Montreal, Buffalo, and Boston. Toronto Winger Colby Armstrong is questionable for the game after injuring himself in Thursday nights win. Giguere is expected to start in goal again. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you can't see the games on television, PM me and I should be able to help you out there.

Re: (10/10/09) GDT#2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators; Battle of Ontario: Rou I'm going to watch the Penguins VS Canadiens match instead, doing a GDT thread on it so sorry man...
Re: (10/10/09) GDT#2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators; Battle of Ontario: Rou Steeger made the first line? Nice.
Re: (10/10/09) GDT#2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators; Battle of Ontario: Rou He has it in him that for sure. Period 1 ends,2-0 for the Leafs.
Re: (10/10/09) GDT#2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators; Battle of Ontario: Rou Yeah. The line of Versteeg-Bozak-Kessle has been very effective so far, and they've already scored tonight (Versteeg with an assist). They score in the season-opener as well. As for the game itself, the Leafs seem to be completely dominating so far. 2-0 after the first and out-shooting the Senators 17-6. Not Leclaire's fault at all, as he's been solid. Hopefully Toronto can keep it up. Ottawa doesn't seem as interested right now. I'll add that the Leafs are definitely targeting Karlsson. Every time he touches the puck they swarm him, because he's been absolutely terrible right to start off the season.
Re: (10/10/09) GDT#2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators; Battle of Ontario: Rou Steeger has to be my favorite player the Hawks lost this offseason. I'll keep my eye on this game as well.
Re: (10/10/09) GDT#2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators; Battle of Ontario: Rou 3-0 for the Leafs, start of third.
Re: (10/10/09) GDT#2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators; Battle of Ontario: Rou Steeger has a Goal, Assist and 5 penalty minutes.. Did he get a into a fight? =D
Re: (10/10/09) GDT#2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators; Battle of Ontario: Rou YESSIR!!! Versteeg just did the "Mr. Gordie Howe" Hattrick!!! Great game by Toronto! Haven't said that in a while. 5-1 win! Ottawa looked out done in every way, and the Leafs feasted on their every turnover. Giguere didn't have much work to do, which is rare when it comes to talking about Toronto goaltenders. This even dating back to CuJo and Eddie. This team seems to know their roles. They have their top 2 lines, their 3rd line grinders, and their 4th line gives the opposition trouble. I won't lie: I like what I've seen so far. Now 2-0 to start off the year.
Re: (10/10/09) GDT#2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators; Battle of Ontario: Rou Another thing I forgot to mention: Orr 4, Carkner 1. This might be one of the best rivalries we'll see for a while when it comes to guys who drop the gloves. He knocked him on his butt again!
Re: (10/10/09) GDT#2: Toronto Maple Leafs vs. Ottawa Senators; Battle of Ontario: Rou Awesome, Steeger likes fighting, and hes a good fighter.. I forget which MMA fighter he trains with.

Fisher looked and is much bigger at 6'1", 208lbs. Atta' boy Steeg!
