Just pointing something out here.... for those of you who are voting make sure you look up some of these players accomplishments before taking the easy road by voting for more current players, the stats do lie because sometimes players have bad seasons. I don't have enough time to go into every little detail about the player, so do your best to make the right decision. Thank you.

I could already know a decent amount of your 'unknown' players even I just read their bio's on www.nba.com/history, as well as their accomplishments. Greer may be better than Houston, but wait until Gilbert Arenas finishes playing in the NBA, then we'll compare these two. Comparing 15 years of individual success with 6 years of individual success isn't fair at all, and Gilbert Arenas has already shown statistically that he is a better scorer than Greer was.. which is kind of surprising because back in the days when Greer was playing there was obviously less talent and competition at his position.. totally opposite of what the SG spot is today. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>is he as athletic.. probably not and if we had a time machine of course he couldn't keep up with todays players because training and therefore the athleticism of the sport was different back then. get the old school players training, eating and a chance to get used to today's game and the HOF'ers would adjust and do fine.</div>Athleticism helps a lot of raw and inept NBA players score on the offensive end, those who are athletic, of course. Today's game is much more fast-paced, I seriously doubt you'd see that back in the '50s, '60s and '70s.

Ewing has all of the accomplishments, Kemp has less of them, and Bosh has even less. Barkley and Schayes both are HOF's and Barkley has an MVP.

I didn't take anyone like that.as for GA being a better scorer, read what I mentioned above[quote name='Zards' post='426543' date='Jul 25 2007, 11:37 PM']Athleticism helps a lot of raw and inept NBA players score on the offensive end, those who are athletic, of course. Mostly due to better knowledge of weight training, diet and having better trainers. Top that off with the first class way today's players travel, they're in better shape.Take yesterday's players, give them the same advantages, they'll be good players in today's game too.[quote name='GArenas' post='426600' date='Jul 26 2007, 12:12 AM']Dude, anyone can make their own list. meh why have this draft is you're not gonna A: discuss the match up and B: list what your players have done to show the reasoning behind your picks?808 said he'd list the accomplishments, but that's a bit much to ask.how you team is constructed is important, but just because you have a good outside shooter who was never a top 5 player at his posistion his entire career doesn't make him better than a HOF player in the least.and I'll post what I damn well please. Like it or hate it.

My vote goes to CelticFan.... looking at his team overall he's got talent in all aspects of the game. For one thing, Wilt Chamberlain alone would need to be constantly double-teamed, leaving the brutal Charles Barkley to take over in the low-post. He's got Isiah Thomas who is like the conductor of a symphony... his vision of the court allows him to spread the offense and assist players through tight holes. To say that Dirk Nowitzki can't play SF is BS IMO, he may not get as many looks on the perimeter but he sure would overpower most of his defenders, now Pippen is the perfect guy to contain him but like I said... CelticFan has way too many options for GArenas to handle. And looking at the bench, you have basically the same amount of talent that can put up points as well as defend the basket. Goodrich, Ritchmond, English, Schayes and Cowens all are huge sparks for this team, this was a close decision for me but in the end I looked at it overall and CelticFan has the upper-hand in all areas IMO. You just can't beat a lineup in which each starter brings something different and unique to the table, that's how you build a championship team.

I'll go with Celtic fan here. Having Dikembe is good but Wilt Chamberlain is the greatest center ever and even on Dikembers best days guarding Hakeem and Patrick he didn't really slow them down much. and if there is one guy who could slow down Magic Johnson it was Isiah Thomas. Stickland is highly overrated in my book, he was just good but he never had the mental espect to really lead a team or make him great. Gail Goodrich is more of a two in my opinion, and the lack of another real one does hurt Celticfan. but with Wilt Chamberlain, Charles Barkley, Dirk, Mitch Richmond, Vince Carter ect, you don't really need to run a set offense. Vlade Divacs trying to guard Wilt or Cowens would just be comical, he'd fall down even when he wasn't trying to. You also have to love Celticsfan guard line up, Mitch Richmond and Alex English were two guys who always gave Pippen trouble defensively, and with a bigman able to kick it out to them for open jumpshots they'd be deadly.
