I wonder if Milwaukee would be interested in Meyers. They are one of the worst three point shooting teams in the league, his spacing could be of interest. Gets him closer to home as well, which shouldn’t be overstated with a guy that is as sensitive to comfort as Meyers.

They might be if we attached a pick and took Henson in return. Milwaukee fans hate Henson like we do Meyers.

I mentioned Jabari in, I think the crazy trade ideas thread. I think they have a chance to make it out of the east, as young as they are, with a few moves. I know everyone likes to not push chips in, and bake cakes and all that, as I've seen many Milwaukee fans say why? when we can let them all grow. But we've seen that Roy/Aldridge/Outlaw/webster, etc. story play out. And if you can strike when the iron is hot, you never know what can happen.

I think a straight Aminu/Parker swap is a good deal for both teams. With what they do defensively, the length on that team, having Bledsoe/Middleton/Aminu/Giannis/Henson is pretty impressive. And bringing Brogdon and Snell off the bench...

Aminu is such a perfect fit for Milwaukee. Don’t think he’d be enough to land Jabari, but it’s a good start. Then we’d still have some other pieces (Napier? Vonleh too if he’s not included) to land a small forward.

    Dame
    CJ
    ?
    Parker
    Nurkic

I like that a lot, even with the question mark at SF.

That’s something I’d float their way for sure. Either way it feels like Parker is one of the very few, if not the only, potential or current star on the market that we can very realistically trade for. Rumors were that Parker was on the block at the beginning of the year, hopefully he still is.

Just offer Milwaukee whatever we were gonna offer New York for Carmelo lol. Parker would fill the same role Melo did (although Parker is more of a four imo. Edit: so is Melo) anyway. If we were interested in Melo I don’t see why we wouldn’t be interested in Parker. He’d be a legit second or third option offensively.

Yeah if I remember correctly Milwaukee was looking for cap flexibility. If that’s still the case (not wanting to pay Parker/taking on salary/dumping Henson) we could always offer a Aminu, Vonleh, Ed package. We’re adding about a million in salary so we’d have to clear $4m to get under the tax, but I think we would be able to trade Napier, Meyers and/or Harkless and save enough to get under.

Random as it is, I’ve had some small (and seemingly meaningless) interactions with Wes Edens who is one of the owners of the Bucks. He is an OSU grad and there was a time I worked for the fundraising department there. OSU for years has tried to get him on board as a major donor and Edens was extremely frugal. I say this because it makes me think that Bucks ownership would much rather trade an unknown like Jabari than pay him big bucks and risk going into luxury tax.

Why in the world would any unrestricted free agent be on this list? Unless it's a move to cut Turner's contract, trading for an unrestricted free agent is a bad idea.

If we were to trade for Parker I'd rant want to keep Aminu because of how they'd compliment each other at the Forward positions. Both are combo-forwards, and it's better to have two combo-forwards compared to one combo-forward and one (strictly) SF or PF. Plus, Animu' s defense covers Parker's lack there-of.

Who should/would say no to this?

    CHI Gets: CJ McCollum
POR Gets: Nikola Mirotic, Denzel Valentine, Right to Swap 1sts w/ Chicago.

Well since we already have a question mark at SF, why not ;)

I'd look at CHI to dump salary to. They have $15M in cap space and an $11M trade exception. For example:

POR Gets: Jerian Grant, Quincy Pondexter, Nikola Mirotic
CHI Gets: Evan Turner, Shabazz Napier, POR 1st, Meyers Leonard or Moe Harkless (TPE)

Allows us a bigger MLE, room below the tax line to make moves, could lead to cap space sooner than 2020, and would rid the team of players on deadweight contracts who they feel they have to play because of their money.

Evan Turner can't be upgraded because we can't move his contract, nor does management feel like they can bench his $18M a year. That'd be about $40M a year wrapped up in 3 players who barely play, which is a terrible look for management, so they'll play him regardless if how bad he plays. It's like putting additional dirt in the wound instead of washing it out.

We need to wash out the wound and find young, hungry players who will play with a chip on their shoulder.

My shortlist at the minute is Stanley Johnson, Mario Hezonja, Julius Randle and Nikola Mirotic.

We should get Hezonja and Mirotic.

Chicago. They are getting a top 5 pick this year. You don't trade away a chance to get Ayton, Bagley or Doncic.
