Being attracted to children is not illegal. Acting on it is illegal.

But what do you do? I really don't think those people asked to be this way.

 

Jail has never worked as a deterrent for really any kind of addiction or mental illness, so yes, I think working to resolve the issue itself is probably a better option.

 

Being illegal doesn't factor in here, in my opinion. This is about rules of gender, not the legality of the acts themselves.

Under the current rules, sexual preference is a gender.

If you understand that aspergians are generally rule followers, maybe you will see that it is literally the truth. As I see it.

(Of course, in no way was this a shot at the LBGTQ community.) And in no way, shape, or form will I argue that they should be a part of their community. Just that under the current rules, as I see them, they are valid genders in their own right.

 

And they are able to seek help. Nobody stops them. If you have these feelings (not you), the hard part is going to be admitting it. Nobody will feel comfortable doing that, no matter what. Society isn’t going to become welcoming to pedophilia. Ever. Maybe that’s too bad, but sometimes things are just so bad there isn’t any way to change its perception. Those people just hopefully have SOMEONE in their life they can talk to about it, and together they get help.

 

What does that have to do with I have said at all? Where have I said, at any point, that people who act on those feelings shouldn't go to jail?

I'm saying that if these people could seek help BEFORE they act, maybe we would prevent them from doing something that hurts others as well as themselves.

I just find it funny that we are in this age of acceptance, where we accept everyone for who they want to be, but I find it extremely ironic that it doesn't apply to some groups. We're super compassionate and accommodating..... but not for these people. Dude wants to become a chick and beat the shit out of biological women in the ring? Why the fuck not! But this other subset of people who are most likely born that way, nope. We have no compassion for these people. I just find it extremely hypocritical.

 

Being LGBTQ is not a gender. I am a sis gender woman (gender) who is also a lesbian.

And the term is sexual orientation, not preference. Preference is used to minimize us. Being LGBTQ is not what we are, it's just a preference like Coke or Pepsi (I drink neither).

Pedophilia is not a gender or a sexual orientation. Whether or not it is a treatable mental condition is not my area of expertise.

Any mental illness that makes you a risk to children needs to be exterminated. Life in prison, chemical castration, whatever. You need to not be a risk to kids.

If you are an adult and abuse a kid or enable a kid to be abused you should be removed from the general population at the very least.

 

I wouldn't act on it, and if I ever were tempted I would turn myself in as a threat or kill myself.

 

I haven't read the thread or any articles, but...did he just look at pictures? If so, he didn't "act on it."

 

If he paid for it he enabled it.
