<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Knicks Analyst:</div><div class="quote_post">In my book, Kobe deserves to be compared to MJ now. What do you guys think about the Kobe/MJ comparison?</div> I thought it was a good comparison even last year when he had all those 40 pt games; most people didn't agree with me though. But now, he definitely deserves to be up there, because he's proven that he can be the man in the playoffs too.
How bout we lay off the cliched MJ comparisons until Kobe: 1) wins some regular-season MVPs (he kind of doesn't have any right now) 2) wins some Finals MVPs (he might get his first this year) 3) is unquestionably the best player in the world for multiple years Until then those like-Mike comments are insubstantial.
Kobe would of had an MVP award last year if the team would of played better, I dont think we should lay off of the comparisons, they are very much a like. Kobe is one of the most clutch players in the game and lives for pressure situations, so did MJ.
So? He patterns his game around him therefore it's legit to compare them? You don't talk about how he's like the GOAT until he accomplishes close to what the GOAT has done.
Kobe at 25 is still not even better than the developing, maturing Jordan at 25. I honestly don't think Kobe will be as good as Jordan, nor do I think anyone will be. He will most likely end his career with a lower tier rank compared to Jordan.

What do you guys think about the Kobe/MJ comparison?</div> For the moment he did, but after last night... :thumbsdow That 2.1 Shot hyped the comparison to whole new level between Kobe and MJ. And that was quite possibly the biggest shot in Kobe career. That was one hell of a shot. And after Kobe hit that shot it got my thinking, maybe he should be compared to Michael Jordan. But after his performance last night, I take all of that back. I personally thought that Kobe wasn't too far away from reaching Michael Jordan skills wise. But scoring just 11 Points on 4-13 shooting in an NBA FINALS game, makes me ponder why I even though about comparing him to the GOAT. Despite his performance in Game 3 against Detroit I still think Kobe is the best player in the League, and is in fact the closest thing to Jordan, but I don’t think he’ll ever be as great as Jordan skill wise and defiantly accomplishment wise. Like Greg Anthony said, every possession mattered to Michael Jordan, and that’s something Kobe doesn’t posses and I doubt any player ever will.
