I think early on he felt that was not his role. He was constantly deferring as if he thought it was more important to get Dame, Ant, Grant, and Nurk going. But with or without Dame in the game, he needs to take those open shots so he also is in a rhythm come crunch time. He has been shooting well since that 0-9 against Dallas. He doesn't need to shoot a lot, just maybe 3-4 more times per game?
If the Blazers could get the right value in return, there isn't a player on the roster I wouldn't trade. Sharpe has plenty of upside, but he's far from a lock to be an all-star in his career. IMO.
Yeah, that's always the problem with the basic message board question about "would you trade so-and-so"? Unless you know what the return package would be, how can you have an informed opinion and what's the use of the discussion? Any player in the league could be traded for the right deal in the right circumstances.
This is exactly why i rarely ever get into any semblance of a "Trade Disussion Thread". It's a complete waste of my time IMO. Granted that is just my opinion and some people genuinely enjoy discussing different possibilities no matter how ludicrous they might be or might not be? Not a drag on anyone just my position.
Everything changed with this team the moment Josh and Justise arrived. Now, we see what Jerami can do. I love the "Three J's".. Get The Letter O healthy, add GPII, and continue to mesh. 50 wins, and a team nobody will want to play, is my goal for this season. Next year, we talk about really accomplishing something.
....again. Until we aren't built around smallish, ball dominant, scoring guards who don't play much defense, that we will be paying nearly $85 million coming soon.....I'm guessing we won't move off of that very far. Grant is nice, but what will they have to pay him to keep him? They just signed Nurk/Ant/Dame to extensions. Winslow/Hart are the heart and soul of the effort side of things and both are up for more money. Just don't see how it all fits together.
I'm glad we still have until mid January until Ant or Nurk can be traded but I would like to see us with a more mobile big and I do think there are much better fits next to Dame than Ant but they've only had eleven games together. We'll hopefully get to watch these guys for a couple of months together and then make a call on what to do or not to do at the trade deadline.
Back in the days of the ESPN message boards, a Laker fan made some ludicrous proposal of a bunch of role players for Rasheed. I told him he was nuts. He threw the ball back at me asking what I would take in trade for Rasheed. I told him a package involving Tim Duncan. He didn’t offer any further trade proposals after that.
I shudder to think what it will cost to keep JG if he keeps playing lights out, and I want him to keep this up. Dealing Ant and/or Nurk may become a topic of discussion as the deadline nears. Hart is probably the easiest to deal to a team wanting to make a run to the finals but I would hate to see him go.
Sharpe is untouchable in my opinion. He has superstar potential. Sure I’d trade him for Giannis if that was possible, but that’s not available or possible. I would not trade him for 34 year old Durant.
