I am a transplant to VA from Kentucky. I now live 45 min from VA Tech. You have to live here to understand. All you hear is Michael Vick this and Michael Vick that. It's like having a local American Idol contestant. It just makes me want to barf. I did root for him in the national championship against Florida State, but that was really just a vote against Florida State. The NFL is already annointing him the next Joe Montana. I take that personally. (Joe was my hero). His stats do not even compare favorably to the bottom half of the league's QBs. I think he is a gifted athlete. He should have been a RB. He just has not impressed me as a QB so far. I suspect he never will.

Vick isn't so great against any decent defense (ex. Bucs, Eagles). I'm not going to post his stats again, or Peerless Price's for that matter. Vick is a good player, but not a good QB. The only reason he is payed so much is because his playing style sells, it's exciting. The thing is, excitement doesn't win football games. Yes, they posted a good record last year and made it to the NFC Championship, but who did they play? Plus, as exciting as Vick's playing style is, it isn't the style you want when your trying to come back in a game. When your down 20 points at the end of the 3rd, I'd rather have a QB that can make the big throws.

He wins them games. Give him a reciever and maybe they can get farther and maybe we can judge him as a QB. That is what it's all about winning and getting to the SB. I am sure it would get annoying to here Mike Vick getting compared to Joe Montana. Not going to happen. Maybe and I mean maybe he gets to a SB but with they way the AFC looks compared to the NFC it's gonna be tough to win one. Bottom line he is a winner for the Falcons. Lets not hold that against him.

I can cut him slack when people don't try to call him great or build him up...he shouldn't dawn the cover of one mag/vidoe game or anything IMO cus he isn't that good. you've come around see that he has alot to do to be a great QB and with legs and arm strenght should he ever find accuracy and intelligence he would be deadly...I'm sick of hearing alot of people...not just on this board...build him up like he is jesus or something.

On 10/24/04, when Atlanta last played Kansas City, I believe the final score was 56-10, Chiefs! Yeah, Gunther Cunningham will probably lose sleep from the fear of facing them again. By the way, that was the pathetic 7-9 Chiefs too.</div>

That was the game Preist would have had like 7 TD's had he not been hurt...didn't he have 4 and blaylock have 3 or vice versa?

I understand what you're saying, I know people can build him up like crazy and I can't even imagine what its like in the Atlanta area. Cut him some slack though, because those people aren't going to stop, no reason to punish Vick for what his fans are saying.

As far as being on a video game or magazine cover, I think he deserves to be on there. Vick seems to be a fan favourite, if thats what fans want to see then that is exactly what they'll get. If its one thing that Vick does well its sell, and I don't think you can argue that.

Come on, humour me guys. I can't be that far out in left field.

Ok I'll give ya the fact that he sells and take back my mag/video game cover thing because your right he does sell...I just wish there was more people who saw him for what he really is at this point in his career and not for the couple of crazy runs he makes a year...I'd love to see the highlight film of him running around getting sacked...haha.

IMO, as a qb, in the classic definition, meaning having to be a field general and a passer, he is definitely not in the top half of the league, probably bottom 10....but as a fan of a team that faces him twice a year, he is probably the most dangerous player in the league...my guess is that coaches just feel that he has too much talent to only get the ball when it is thrown or handed to him and are betting that he can become a competent field general/passer in addition to the qualities he already possesses...in watching him play, i can't remember him beating us as a passer, only with his feet...i have doubts of his ability to be a top level qb, in the classic definition

Vick is overrated... He hasn't proved anything. He's got RB/WR speed and plays the QB position below the league average. He hasn't proven that he can lead his team consistantly as of yet.

    Fantasy numbers, he's very overrated.

He may be a little overrated but he has be consistant. Leading the Falcons to the playoffs with him as the starting QB. Without the Falcons don't make the playoffs. It's hard to judge him as a QB when he hasn't had a great reciever to throw to. Price was o 1 hit wonder and Jenkins and White are unproven. like I said before. Give him a good reciever and I am sure his numbers go up.

Porky my friend I agree with you, but you are fighting a never ending battle with the Vick topic. This argument will never end until Vick lights it up and proves to the critics what he can really do, until then you might as well be banging your head against a wall because you won't get through to them. You are welcome to keep trying, but in my experience you won't get anywhere.

So you are saying it wont end til he actually does what you say he can do. Hmmm sounds like a concession of the argument to me.

Yes, thats what I'm saying. If Vick does what I THINK he is capable of doing then the critics will have no choice but to give him credit and admit he is a good QB. If he doesn't then apparently I'm wrong, we'll just have to wait and see.

Carr and collins are both better. Boller might end up better. Harrington looks like bust. Ramsey I am not sure.

Collins is a joke now. He was good but now he done and made himself a joke.

Carr is not better. How many playoffs has Carr went to. Plus he has a wideout in Andre Johnson.

    Harrinton=BUST as does Ramsey.

Boller hasn't done anything special and needs to prove people wrong.

Granted those are not all bad QB's but is wrong with Mike Vick. He is an elite PLAYER not a QB. Give him Andre Johnson to throw up to and we will see how good his numbers are.

To continue my list AJ Feely,JP Losman,Rex Grossman,Brian Greise. Want more.

Vick is better, but there is more hate on Vick because those QB's aren't having the success he's having.

How can you calll Ramsey who never really had a shot to play a Bust?? Same for Harrington, people are way to trigger happy to name people busts. Give them atleast 5 years.

Vick is a very good player. He's developing, and in meantime he's winning games. He's not reat yet, hopefully with some coaching he can be. He reminds me a little of Cunningham (Cunningham was a much better passer though). The problem with Randall he never had a good coach, Buddy would tell him to go out there and win with his legs. I am afraid that Mora is doing the same with Vick. We'll have to wait and see.

Funny you mention Harrington because Vick actually threw for less yards than Harrington 7 times last season....
