Personally, I want Kobe to win it. In my opinion, he deserved it last year, but because the media still despises him and is all over Steve Nash, he didn't win. Even if he does put up 35/6/6 this year, he still won't win, as it will likely be LeBron. Alongside Nash, he's the golden boy of the media and it's just a matter of time before he gets an MVP.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting dallasdude:</div><div class="quote_post">Nope..Nash wasn't an MVP in Dallas either. Throw him into the Detroit Pistons team and see if he wins any MVP awards. An MVP winner should be capable of making any team in the league better, not ones that only suit their style of play.

Let's face it. I'm not a big fan of Shaq, but how on earth can Nash have more MVP awards than the big Aristotle?</div>

You know what. I agree 100%.

You are right about all of that, and it makes no sense that Nash has more MVPs than Shaq.

MVP is becoming like the Heisman trophy. [IMG]

It's going to be Lebron, wade or possibly novitzky. last season i said if kobe had won 50 games he would have been MVP that won't cut it this next season because Wade and lebron are going to be at even a higher level than last year when they were top candidates.

I'm thinking Kobe or lebron better record of the two teams, their star will win MVP imo, OR...watch out for tmac [IMG] I think he's gonna come back with a vengeance.Everyone's doubting him and his back, if the rockets prove to be a top team next year, wtih t-mac back to himself, ( around 27 ppg 6 rpg 6 apg) I think he has a shot at MVp

In terms of pure difference makers I would say Shaq edges Nash in that aspect. Why hasn't Shaq won any MVP awards? [IMG]

Anthony supposedly has been the best player in team USA's camp, and carrying on from his sucess from last season, I think he'll be in the running if the Nuggets rack up 50+ wins. I see next year as another dominating year from the Guards, with LeBron, Wade and Kobe being the top candidates.

    1) LeBron James
    2) Dwyane Wade
    3) Carmelo Anthony
    4) Kobe Bryant
    5) Yao Ming

With T-Mac back I don't see him as an MVP canditate.

Lebron has already won it. Im not saying he wont deserve it, but no matter what anyone else does, if lebron performs the same as last year, he will be a blow away winner.

That doesn't make any sense. According to you statement, he would be a surefire winner if he played at the same level as 2005-2006....but he didn't win the MVP in 2006...infact he lost to Steve Nash, so what makes you so sure he won't lose to someone who puts up great numbers like Kobe or Dirk next year?

Kobe will win it if his team gets the top 4 seed in my opinion. A 7th seeded is not warranted to get the MVP award, but honestly the term "most valueable player" means that if you take that player out of the system, the team would sink like crazy, and I can't think of any other player that could have carried that Lakers team the way he did. Not Shaquille O'Neal, not Dwyane Wade...perhaps Lebron but he does not have enough of a 3 point shot to bail the Lakers out as much as Kobe did.

Plus, this whole Lebron thing seems wierd to me..he only had 3 more wins with arguably a better supporting cast in the EASTERN CONFERENCE and people automatically assume he deserves MVP. If Kobe and Lebron switched places I would think the Cavs would have a similar record as Lebron did with the Cavs but if you switched Lebron and Kobe, I'm not exactly sure he would have done the same with the Lakers as what Kobe did.

You yourself even predicted that Yao would 23.4, 10.7 and 1.6 BPG, so since T-Mac is back, the team will yet again by elite (with the huge addition of Battier) making Yao a legit canidate. Especially with those numbers, and counting on T-Mac missing a few games, I don`t see why he can`t be an MVP canidate.

Almost every elite team now has two legit stars, and just because the Rockets have possiby the best duo in the NBA, doesn`t mean any of the two have no shot at the MVP.

LeBron was a better choice last year than Nash arguably and he didn't win it. Mainly becuase of that argument that he eventually will win it. If the cavs have over 50 wins and lebron puts up great numbers again he'll likely win it and will deserve it too. It's kinda like with jordan's first MVP win in '88, people were just waiting for him to lead a team to 50 wins and that was good enough for them pretty much.

Oh, so that rules out Dwyane Wade as well. You know, because he's playing alongside Shaq, and every Heat fan out there is predicting him to produce a 20/10 again. Although McGrady's probably going to score a bit more, overall Yao is the base of the team and in my opinion, next year will be truly breaking out. I'm pretty sure everyone witnessed how Yao played once he fully healed and got back from his injury. I don't see why not he shouldn't be considered as an MVP candidate.

P.A.P. pretty much said what I wanted to say, but I just had to throw that in there.

LeBron deserves it. I do not believe Steve Nash deserved any MVPs.

He took a team that won what, 29 games the year before, got them to 62 wins and a trip to the WCF. The only other player I'd have taken over him would have been Shaq.

Part of me wants Kobe to win the MVP, just so I don't have to hear the whining about him being robbed/hated by the media and league.
