I know Lebron hogged, but man, Ray Allen was an even bigger hog, what was he doing in there just jacking up shots and holding the ball for 15 seconds each time, then twice passing at the last second to KG.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Super_Sixer_Fan:</div><div class="quote_post">IMO, I don't think LBJ won the AS MVP It took him 21 field goal attempts to get those 29 pts He only had 2 assists, although I respect the 6 rebounds AI only had 1 pt (Mostly due to Flip Saunders) At halftime, he ended up with 13, whatever other statsitics he had, I have to look up. But even the statsitics, isn't what made him the MVP in my books. What did is that at halftime, the Western Conference had a 17 PT advantage. AI came out at a point in the game and hit a jump shot, and then other guys just started getting involved. And Big Ben, and alot of crucial plays were made off of Allen Iverson's energy. This was a statsitical vote, that I think was not very fair, similar to the Dunk Contest IMO. The Fan-Favorite of the game LBJ won the prize</div> I hope you aren't trying to make a case for AI being the MVP. You guys absolutely amaze me at how biased you can be at times. had the West won T-Mac (the highest scoring player by far on the West) would have one the MVP. Since the East won shouldn't the highest scoring player be ithe MVP? He also only took 20 shots, scored 29 points on over 50% shooting. His only downfall was his free throws.
So hold on a minute... I am hearing cases for MVP for Shaq and Wade?! You guys are so bogus its not funny. I will just join you guys at your own game then... the MVP should have gone to the guy who almost had a triple double and who had the best play of the game - Kobe Bryant!!! How's that?! How did I do?
<u>Shaquille O'Neal</u> 17 Points 9 Rebounds 4 Assist 18 MINUTES!!!!!!!! Amazing, plus he was the most entertaining player tonight.

And as far as the all-star game is concerned only assists and points count... who cares how many rebounds a guy gets.

All I wanted was T-Mac to send the game into OT, Kobe to hit the 3 to send it into 2OT, and then T-Mac getting the game winning dunk in 3OT. Thats all...If not that then a fair shot for the West to win. Put T-Mac on the line for 2 free throws.

HE was getting owned by Tim Duncan the entire first half. I can't give an MVP to a ballhog who palyed 0 defense. A Center getting more assist than a guy who had almost double his minutes AND who dominated the ball for the majoirty of the game is a disgrace. Not only did he get more assist than him, he got double the assist as him.
What's the big deal about a SF getting owned by a PF/C in the post? How is that anything against him? Who was Shaq shutting down? He picked up a couple of fouls, that's about it, and this is an All-Star game, saying a guy didn't play defense is stupid.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">he got double the assist as him.</div> Since when is 4 the double of 0?
I was pleasantly surprised by Bosh. Besides that awesome dunk, he just did the little things, didn't demand the ball, and got a surprising amount of minutes. Could you give the MVP to that Pistons lineup? I know the game is all for fun and show, but it was a treat to watch Big Ben double-swat Pau, and that lineup spark a great run with some good old fashioned D. The only thing that really bothered me about this game, was the NBA's continued denial of hip hop. Last year we got midget cowboys and now the closest thing to some rap was John Legend? I know they wanted to play the Houston connection, but there's some good Texas rappers out there. Chamillionaire?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Diesel:</div><div class="quote_post">A Center getting more assist than a guy who had almost double his minutes AND who dominated the ball for the majoirty of the game is a disgrace.</div> Actually, Fiyah made a mistake... LeBron only played 23 minutes, not 30. Hey, i'm glad LeBron won, I finally predicted something right. I thought Andre was gonna win the Dunk Contest, Ray Allen would win the 3 pt contest, and CP3 would win the Skills Competition.

LeBron didn't even attempt to block his shot. When Duncan came around with the hook shot, LeBron just backed out of the way not putting a hand up or anything. Defense matters. The reason the East got back into the game was because of Detroit basketball. They were playing team basketball and hard nosed defense. Two things LeBron was not capable of doing.
Why are you telling me they're both listed as F's? Whether they are or not, Lebron is a SF, Duncan is a PF/C. Lebron does not guard guys in the post, I'm not sure if you were expecting him to be able to even touch Duncan defensively in the post, their was 0 chance of him truly doing anything down low agaisnt him. Yes, defense does matter, but in the first half, no one was truly playing defense. Why don't you also get at all the guys who allowed fastbreak dunks when they were in position to give a nice hard foul and prevent and easy basket. In the second half, he didn't play too bad defense, who cares really, if someone else in the East would win it, it would've been Wade or Billups.

LeBron guarding Duncan certainly isn't my fault. He should at least put a god damn effort on it. He was playing like a pansy. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">this is an All-Star game, saying a guy didn't play defense is stupid.</div> <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Yes, defense does matter</div> Which is it? About Wade and Billups I believe both of them deserved it over LeBron as well. I am sick of the front pages of NBA.com, espn.com, and tomorrows newspaper. "MVP LeBRon James leads the East to victory from a 21 Point deficit." I really don't want to see that when the reason we came back was because of teamwork, and defense. Not ballhogging, and no defensive effort.
