<div class="quote_poster">Quoting PlaTsanity:</div><div class="quote_post">i dont want to see rudy gay in a raps uniform just because of the fact that i really like how charlie is playing at SF and want to see him playing SF next season however--i would either draft shelden williams or just trade this draft pick for magloire</div> Why couldn't Rudy Gay play SG and split sometime at SF? His ball handling is vastly improved from last year and he can compotently play the SG, especially for the Raptors. This year, he's moved away from his SF/PF tag and really started to become a SG/SF for UConn. From the way it looks, we won't be getting such a high pick, but if we did in theory, why would you want to use it to get Shelden Williams? Even if it is a lower pick, why draft Shelden Williams win our primary needs are at SG or Center? Also, at the beginning of the season, Carney was playing SG for Memphis off the bench. I don't know if he's at SF now, but he can play the SG. Maybe Voodoo Child would know more. However, I was giving it a lot of thought, and don't you guys think that if the Raptors didn't get a top 3-4 pick, if they drafted a SG, it would more likely be Ronnie Brewer than Rodney Carney? He fits the Raptors style of play more, and would be a good sub in place of Moe Peterson. With how Mike James plays, having Ronnie Brewer makes a lot more sense because of the way he distributes and doesn't take as many shots to make points. Also he has been making a name for himself on defense, which is what the Raptors need, and he does have atheletic presence that Raptors will want combined with a high Basketball IQ. Anyway, I agree with you about Jamaal Magloire coming to the Raptors as we do need a true center. However, why give up a draft pick for him. Doesn't he become a draft pick the summer after this one? It would be high risk low payoff, especially if he does well and demands a lot of money from us, or just decides he doesn't want to re-sign.
