I don't want to hate muchon 'Toine, he gets enough of it. But Ray Allen has hit a career 3 FG% of 39.5%, while Antoine's is 32.6 3FG%. That is almost 7% difference for their careers. Anyway props for supporting Antoine even when he isn't very popular.

QUOTE (#1AntoineWalkerFan)

ok then ray allen is an "average at best" 3 pt shooter...good call

through 19 games of a season. his will come around

You can't compare Walker to Ray Allen.
Walker was a good shooter at time but Allen is an allstar. (some might make a case that he's a superstar)
Walker never reached that.

You can't really defend Walker, he was never close to a superstar, not even a regular star. Just a guy who did his living by shooting a lot of threes.
Heres a question, do you consider Peja a star?
I don't, even though he's got to be a better player than Walker and is a better shooter.

He was the heart and soul of this team, he rebounded when needed the most, he knew how to block out (when no one else knew), made some of the biggest shots during his time here, lead the team, something no player until KG has been able to do.

QUOTE (CelticKing)

Heres a question, do you consider Peja a star?
I don't, even though he's got to be a better player than Walker and is a better shooter.

Peja,inhisprime,wasjustawide-openshooter.

thank you aqua...it gets tiring being the only one who actually looks at the facts and the games and and having to fight against peoples opinions when all they wanna say is "he wasnt a star cuz i said so"

There are certainly some people who go somewhat over-ther-top in bashing the chubby one. There are also some people (*cough* *cough*) who go sort of over-the-top in giving him props. 'Toin did make some allstar teams - yes. Was he to the level of a "superstar"? Absolutely not. Was his effort on-court "equal to KG's"? No. In fact I can think of no one - except for Larry Bird and Jordan - who played as hard and all out as KG.

alright, if we constitute the term "superstar" as kobe/lebron/wade type players then yes he didnt even come close...but my initial arguement came when comparing him to ray allen who was classified as an allstar/superstar earlier in this thread...if someone includes ray allen in the superstar arguement then prime walker is right there with him...especially since their numbers are eerily similar through their first 7 seasons.

and just because antoines talent does not equal KGs does not mean he didnt play as hard...and also, not putting KG down at all, its simple to play all out when you are winning every game...toine played all out whether they were winning or losing...and the infamous speech that we all know of to spark pierce and the comeback against the nets in the playoffs...that showed more heart than ive seen in any player...its not rare to see ppl play hard when they are up 20...it is rare to see someone who can believe in his team being down 20+ with 12 minutes to go

Guess who's statline: 23.4 PPG, 8.9 RPG, 5.5 APG, 1.7 SPG
Garnett's career best: 24.2PPG, 13.9 RPG, 5.0 APG, 1.5 SPG
Chris Webber in his prime: 27.1PPG, 11.1 RPG, 4.2 APG, 1.3 SPG

QUOTE (David_Ortiz)

Prime Walker on the same level asRay Allen?
