^^^ While I do happen to think more highly of Walker than (apparently) others do, there's a lot of newfangled statistical data that says Walker costs teams more than he helps.

That said, once he matured in Boston, they were a playoff team regularly with him as the main guy. I think he played a huge role in the Heat's championship run as well.

There are certainly some people who go somewhat over-ther-top in bashing the chubby one. There are also some people (*cough* *cough*) who go sort of over-the-top in giving him props. 'Toin did make some allstar teams - yes. Was he to the level of a "superstar"? Absolutely not. Was his effort on-court "equal to KG's"? No. In fact I can think of no one - except for Larry Bird and Jordan - who played as hard and all out as KG.

Agreed. Walker made some very poor decisions while on the floor, but I do not question the effort back then. Not on the KG level as you said, but KG's a freak.

If Walker was on the same level as KG, he would have lost some weight first. [IMG]

    Good player nonetheless.

    2007-08 Celtics vs. 1995-96 Bulls

Twelve years ago, the Chicago Bulls set a standard of success that many think will never be matched: 72-10 in the regular season. Almost a perfect season.

Well, now we have another fast-starting team, and so far they are running with the Bulls. The Boston Celtics are on pace to surpass the Bulls' 72 wins and become the second team to win 70 in a season.

They're two different positions buddy. Of course a power forward is going to snag more rebounds than a shooting guard. Prime Allen is better than Prime Walker. Allen averaged 26 points a game his final two seasons in Seattle. Antoine may have cracked 20 in a few seasons, but look at his shooting percentages compared to Allen's.

    Not so good.

In fact, it's so bad that CK is not even updating the stats anymore. [IMG]

It's a truly amazing record. At the time, I didn't appreciate just how tough it was for them to do.

I know the Celts don't seem to be in the running for beating the Bulls' record, and I think now that they have played some tougher teams that their record is a better representation of their team. I still think they are great, just the 19-2 or whatever was not an accurate long term record for the Celts imo.'

btw what is the Bulls record at this point?
